From rustic chic and jungle disco to shahi splendor, this Udaipur wedding set some serious goals with its decor inspiration.
Hosted amidst the royal splendor of Udaipur, Harshita Motiyani and Siddharth Patwari’s Sindhi-Marwari wedding was a riveting celebration of their union. Planned in vivid detail by WeddingSutra Favorite – Desert Pearl Entertainment, their wedding was full of interesting themes, warm family moments and rousing revelries.
How they met
People often meet their soulmates through friends, family and colleagues. In the case of Harshita, a banker by profession and Siddharth, client servicing and operations professional, it was Shaadi.com that played cupid! Connecting almost instantly, theirs was a lockdown romance, and in just a few days, they knew that they had found the one.
Wedding Planning
The couple chose the royal ambience of Udaipur to host their dream wedding, entrusting the planning and execution to the very talented team of Desert Pearl Entertainment. Wedding Functions
Welcome dinner
An elegant poolside welcome dinner kicked off the festivities on a fun note. Rustic decor of fairy lights, flower-filled wooden barrels and marquee lights set a chic tone for the night as everyone relaxed to the tunes of an acoustic musical band, mingled and pepped up for the days of fun to come. The groom wore a stylish silver grey Jodhpuri jacket by Kunal Rawal, while the bride looked classy in a champagne hued saree.
Bhaat
The next morning dawned with a sunny bhaat function on a terrace venue of the hotel with breathtaking lake and mountain views beyond. Beautiful decor of yellow flowers painted a stunning picture against the bright blue skies and the pristine white architecture of the space. The couple donned matching blue ensembles for the occasion.
Ring Ceremony
The evening began with a dazzling ring ceremony with a display of SFX and over 100 cold pyros to create a Niagara fall effect over the couple as they exchanged rings amidst loud cheers by their families. The groom dazzled in a Kunal Rawal creation for the night, while the bride glittered in a red Sulakshana Monga couture gown. Everyone proceeded to the Sangeet after the ceremony.
Sangeet
The glitz and glamour of Sangeet night saw extravagant decor and exuberant festivities. Neon hues, rich foliage canopies hung with shiny disco balls, cold pyros, chandeliers and more, added to the opulence of the night. The couple and their loved ones put up amazing dance performances, including a special number by the couple depicting their story.
After party
The energy of the Sangeet function continued with a groovy after-party. Decked with led lights and mystical green foliage, the jungle disco vibe of the occasion was set with 100 MI bars programmed with DJ music beats, which had everyone dancing till the morning.
Haldi
The vibrant Haldi function was inspired by the fun and flair of a Rajasthani mela, complete with colorful quirky decor, food and activity stalls, music, dancing, and more. The groom’s lemon yellow mirror work kurta looked perfectly coordinated with the bride’s sunny mustard sharara set as they danced into the function hand-in-hand to a colorful display of smoke bombs. Their friends and families had a gala time smearing them with turmeric paste for the ceremony.
Wedding
Invoking the royal grandeur and heritage of Marwar, the wedding ceremony was a royal affair with decadent decor and arrangements. Accompanied by camels, horses, fire torches, vintage cars and an army band, the baraat procession was as grand as it could get. The bride looked radiant in an intricate rose-pink lehenga by Frontier Raas, while the groom complemented her in soft shades of pink in an outfit by Kunal Rawal. As they exchanged Varmalas at the entrance of the palace, the royal facade lit up with cold pyros for a breathtaking effect that left all their guests awestruck.
Advice for couples
“Start your planning well in advance for everything, be it your clothes, decor, photographers, collaterals, etc, so that you don’t have to stress about anything at the last minute. Make sure to rest well before your festivities start, and then just focus on enjoying.”
