Wedding Events
6th February: Cocktails at The Taj Mahal Colaba, Mumbai
A black tie event, this pre-wedding celebration was for close family, friends and business associates to celebrate over some great food, champagne and fantastic performances by singer and songwriter, Gaurav Dagaonkar and DJ Girish (Kilogram). The Crystal Ballroom was transformed into a gorgeous venue with floral arrangements and candles.
12th Febuary: Afternoon Welcome Lunch & Mehndi at the Pool Side, Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur
The horn of the bugle, marigold garlands, good luck ‘Kumkum’ tilaks, welcomed the guests into the foyer of the grand palace of Umaid Bhawan. Traditional Rajasthani dance, local folk songs mesmerized the guests as they stood underneath the central dome.Sophisticated was the air at the pool side where the Lunch was hosted. Chic pastel decor, specialty cocktails, contemporary beats by DJ Kilogram and a light February breeze blended perfectly to kick start the wedding festivities.
Sangeet at Meherangarh Fort, Jodhpur
The Sangeet was set in India’s most sought after fort, a former residence of the Maharaja, ‘The Meherangarh’. As the evening approached the lights on the fort came to life. The deep yellow facade on the highest point of Jodhpur shimmered like gold – reminding the guests of the Royal era long forgotten. A Royal band, Kalbelia dancers, puppet shows, and rose petal showers, entertained the guests as they climbed through intricately decorated passages. The main event held at the central courtyard where Pritam’s band with renowned singers Nakash Aziz, Aditi Singh Sharma, Abhijeet Sawant, and Monali Thakur sung and danced to the latest Bollywood numbers.
The highlight of the event was the soulful performance by Hemna who sang, ‘ilitjha’ a song specially composed and written for the couple by Vishal Punjabi, the Wedding Filmers.
13th February: Wedding ceremony at Baradari Lawns, Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur
The Baradari makes the perfect venue for an evening wedding. The white marble mandap decorated with bells, mirrors, and flowers radiated positive energy as the powerful shloka’s from Kishore Manraja united the two soul’s forever. The grooms modern day royal Baraat was a memorable one as the baraati’s danced to latest Bollywood songs alongside dhol walaas. Natasha Gocal from Divinity Weddings however tells us the Brigadier service at the sit-down dinner was an experience of a lifetime. The ‘east meets west’ 7 course meal was curated especially keeping Indian and European taste buds served in synchrony to the flute tunes of Balvinder singh ji was a marvel.
After the marriage, guests were treated to a exquisite sit-down dinner as the very talented flautist Baljinder Singh performed for guests from table to table.
A wedding is incomplete without an after-party and DJ Girish played the night away.
