Jhalak and Saiyam, Jodhpur

Encompassed by lush sprawling lawns and breathtaking signature Rajasthani architecture, Jhalak Shah and Saiyam Ajbani, a partner at Dhanera Diamonds’ nuptials were nothing short of stunning. Hosted at the ultra-luxurious Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, which stoically perched on the Chittar Hill offers panoramic views of the Blue city, this wedding was a treat for the eyes with its traditional grandeur that transported one back in time.

How They Met
Jhalak shares, “We met in the summer of 2018 through, what I would like to call the magic of fate. As my Dad was planning a business trip to Mumbai, I thought it would be a good idea to accompany him and make a short holiday out of it. However, little did I know that I’d meet Saiyam there! Both of us had known about each other for a while since a family friend had tried to set us up, but neither of us was really looking to settle down then. But then, one meeting transitioned into another and soon we were good friends as the conversation flowed between us effortlessly. Being complete opposite personalities, both of us had a wonderful time understanding each other’s perspectives on life. And numerous flights later, we were sure that we wanted to take the next step.”

Wedding Venue
Describing their process behind selecting the venue, Jhalak shares, “We did a lot of scouting before selecting Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur. There is something absolutely magical about the place and from the first glance itself, I had my heart set on it! Everything from the royal architecture to the impeccable hospitality made a strong impression upon us. Looking back, I don’t think anything else would’ve made the cut for us.”

Wedding Planning
Acknowledging the huge task of planning a destination wedding, the duo decided to rope in expert vendors who’d understand their vision from the very beginning. Jhalak shares, “Our family and friends made every effort to ensure the wedding was perfect, and I can proudly say that it totally was! We created some really awesome memories and had a team that backed us up at every front. Shashank Issar Photography captured our wedding in the most stunning frames, we could not have picked anyone better! Our wedding planners Momentum Experiences & Events LLP, along with other professionals were also a part of our team along with the extremely efficient staff of Umaid Bhawan to make our wedding a glorious celebration!”

Weddings Functions
Mehendi
Taking a traditional and simplistic route, the Mehendi was a cozy affair where the bride basked under the sunshine as she got henna patterned on her hands. Surrounded by her girl squad, this occasion was filled with warm moments where all the girls compared their Mehendi designs and exchanged cheerful banter before the celebrations began.

Cocktail
Giving glamor a healthy boost, the cocktail witnessed the bride and groom making a glorious entrance as they descended down the marble steps within the palace. However, adding an extra element of cuteness was their pet dog who accompanied them throughout the celebrations. A huge sit-down dinner with the family ensued where everyone indulged themselves till the wee hours of the night.

Sangeet
A boisterous event where everyone flaunted their best moves, the Sangeet was filled to the brim with laughter, dance, and music as the duo’s families came together and performed on stage to celebrate the union. Equipped with a colossal stage, dhol walas, and LED panels that put everyone in the mood to dance, age was just a number on this night. However, the highlight of the event was Jhalak and Saiyam’s entrance which was heralded by color bombs.

Wedding
For their big day, the duo chose to go colorful with floral decor that followed an elegant pink, peach, and white color palette. Hosted under a mandap adorned with suspended roses and jasmine blooms, the wedding ceremony was picture perfect in its grandeur. Also, keeping the traditions in mind, the bride chose a bright red lehenga with kundan jewelry while Saiyam opted for a merlot and gold embroidered sherwani.

Reception
Ending their celebrations on a high note, the receptions fused traditional and contemporary glamour to create an event that was absolutely stunning. Equipped with an entranceway that gave off ‘Great Gatsby’ vibes with its floor pattern, the decor played with rich red hues and golden fairy lights to orchestrate an atmosphere of sophisticated glamour.
