Wedding Venue
Jhalak shares, “For us, Devi Ratn in Jaipur was love at first sight! The clean architectural design, the variety of in-house venues and the sheer luxury it exuded was just top-notch! Nested between the Aravalli Hills on the outskirts of Jaipur, we knew that everyone would be treated to colourful sunsets each day. Additionally, the location of the venue was also ideal being close to Delhi as most of our relatives would be able to attend the wedding easily. Our guests hailed from all over the world, so it was extremely convenient for us and them.”

Wedding Planning
Helming the couple’s wedding squad was Plush Weddings who impressed the duo with their creativity, dedication and foresight. The couple shares, “Throughout the wedding, Plush Weddings weren’t just our planners but also our friends and a solid support system! They made the process super smooth and easy for us, made the wedding more personal for us with their planning and execution, and their hospitality was on point for those three days.”

Ruchika Arora from Plush Weddings shares, “ Shubham is a complete Bollywood Buff and he wanted his sangeet to resemble an IIFA Awards night. Bringing in a personalised element into the celebration were the custom sweatshirts with Bollywood punchlines adapted to the wedding. For the haldi, which was celebrated quite grandly, pocket squares were designed by the bride’s label while the ladies were gifted colourful dupattas. The same trend was followed for the Sufi Night where the guests were given vials of attar
Overall, the couple was quite eager to personalise every aspect of the event, especially, the favours. The groom also curated a gift box for all the guests which he delivered to their rooms on the very first day of the celebrations.”

Sufi Night
Jhalak shares, “We kicked off the celebrations with a Sufi night. A live Sufi singer set the mood for the event and everyone swayed to his tunes. Honestly, we had initially planned the event to be a mellow one with a Sufi ‘jugalbandi’ but everyone was in high spirits as they danced! Later, an after-party also took place that lasted until seven in the morning. Safe to say, this event set the tone for the upcoming festivities!”

Bhaat
The bride shares, “I wanted the decor to be monochromatic with a separate bold colour for each event. The decor was rightly labelled as ‘laal angan’ with its crimson-hued garden that merged beautifully with the facade of the property. Overall, this celebration exuded an ethereal vibe with its red hues and accent colours.”

Sangeet
The bride recollects, “The bhaat lunch was followed by an evening of drinking and dancing at our Sangeet, which was highly inspired by Bollywood. Shubham danced to an eight-song medley of Ranveer Singh’s most energetic songs! Decor-wise, it was a scrabble-themed night with a matrix-like entrance where everyone took loads of pictures.”

Haldi
Shubham shares, “The third day was the mint-themed haldi which was followed by a grand sit-down lunch. The table decor took a traditional route with earthy elements that mimicked Rajasthan’s beauty. Plus, the guests were given the royal treatment as they were served lunch on silver thalis.”

Wedding
Jhalak shares, “The wedding decor followed an ethereal colour scheme with ivory and pink blooms accenting the subtle colours. We took plenty of inspiration from Sheesh Mahal to create decor elements with ornate white marble and mirrors. As a result, everything looked pristine! And, the guests also followed the dress code by showing up in hues of pastel. A chrome aisle led up to the mandap whose structure took a cue from classic marble temple architecture. A figure of Lord Shreenathji was also created to bless us as we took our phere.”

Advice for couples
Jhalak says, “Take it easy and try to enjoy your big day. Don’t focus too much on the small things that go wrong. If 80% is how you wanted it, you are good to go. Enjoy the best parts, that is all your family and friends coming together in one place to celebrate you, which is what matters the most.”
