From Tuscany to Turkey in a day! This couple’s destination wedding celebrations included varied global themes while honouring their traditions.
Kajal Jeswani, a jewellery designer and Rishi Wadhwani, an entrepreneur hailing from Spain celebrated their Sindhi wedding in style surrounded by the stunning vistas of the Mediterranean Sea in Antalya. With an array of events that embraced local as well as global flavours, this wedding was planned and designed by WeddingSutra Favorite – DreamzKrraft.
Wedding Planning
Priti Sidhwani from DreamzKrraft shares, “Kajal and Rishi’s wedding stands out remarkably among destination weddings due to its sheer diversity and creativity in theme selection. Unlike many destination weddings that may stick to a single theme or ambience, their celebration was a delightful journey through many unique themes. From the Tuscan-inspired Mehendi room to the Bollywood-themed ballroom evening, and the vibrant Sunflower Garden Haldi to the pastel floral wonderland of the Pheras, each event was a distinct and imaginative experience. Moreover, the incorporation of elements like the interactive Ganpati Ji’s Wall and a grand theatrical performance during the reception added layers of uniqueness. This diverse array of themes and experiences showcased the couple’s willingness to break away from convention and embrace a broad spectrum of creative ideas, setting their wedding apart as a memorable and multifaceted destination celebration.
The choice of the venue itself, was a statement of opulence and luxury, as it is renowned for being one of the most lavish and picturesque resorts in the world. Situated on the stunning Turkish Riviera, the venue blends classical Ottoman architecture and modern luxury. The wedding’s scenic value was elevated by the picturesque views of the Mediterranean Sea in the month of May, which provided a serene and romantic atmosphere.”
Wedding Functions
Mehndi
With the bride’s own mehndi taking place in a close-knit setting without any frills, the couple went all out for the mehndi celebration they hosted for the guests. Taking a cue from the rustic charm of Tuscany, the mehndi was elegant with the bridal seating decorated with an array of colourful blooms and foliage. Pampas grass and marigolds were also used strategically as centerpieces as the guests had a gala time getting their palms patterned with henna.
Sangeet
For the sangeet festivities, glamour took the front seat as the couple hosted a ‘Bollywood Night’. With a stage that looked straight out of an award show and an opulent jewel-toned palette, the night exuded grandeur. Priti shares, “The set design was very cinematic and we even had a red-carpet entrance to make every guest feel like a celebrity as they made their way to the ballroom.”
Haldi
Themed along the lines of a Sunflower Garden, the haldi was all things yellow and fresh. Abundant in sunflowers and citrus elements, the haldi decor dazzled under the sunshine. The couple also embraced local flavours with a Turkish Bazaar that included giveaways like bracelets fashioned with the traditional Turkish evil eye.
Wedding
Priti shares, “The couple was keen on making the phera ceremony a serene one. With their preferences in mind, a pastel floral garden was crafted with a special pedestal that paid homage to Lord Ganesh. This, in turn, added a dash of spirituality to the occasion along with tons of positive vibes.” The decor also consisted of acrylic furnishings with pastel blooms as centerpieces. Additionally, each table also had a tent card holder that gave the guests a clear explanation of each ritual.
Reception
Inspired by the French Opera, the reception boasted of a theatrical grandeur. Shades of red dominated the color palette while richly adorned tables ensured everyone got a clear view of the stage which hosted some truly stellar performances. Crystal candelabras, chrysanthemums, foliage and pampas grass gave the indoor venue a lush feel.
