Kashmera Balani and Inderdeep Sedha, Sheraton Grand Danang Resort, Vietnam
This couple’s destination wedding in Vietnam sported globally inspired themes that looked striking against the tropical landscape.
Kashmera Balani and Inderdeep Sedha’s destination wedding in Vietnam comprised a series of epic celebrations that took a cue from the local culture. At the forefront of it all as wedding planners was WeddingSutra Favorite – Veydaa Eternal Weddings who conceptualized unique themes to make the couple’s union an unforgettable one.
Wedding Planning
Kashmera shares, “We wanted a unique, elegant design that reflected both of us while showcasing Da Nang’s stunning landscape. The planning team, Veydaa Eternal Weddings was pivotal in ensuring that everything went ahead sans any hiccups. They were meticulous in every aspect and gave us plenty of breathing space to explore the country and create cherished memories before the wedding. For each event, a specific name and theme were allotted. And, even the menu was customized in tandem with the theme. The planning team made several practical suggestions to minimize food waste. Overall, the wedding planning was a breeze. Working with Veydaa Eternal Weddings was easy as the entire team was friendly and understanding.”
Wedding Functions
Welcome Dinner
A curious blend of elements inspired by Vietnam and Havana, the welcome dinner, named Vietvana, exuded the laid-back vibes of Havana while flaunting the tropical beauty of Vietnam. The couple shares, “The decor was filled with Vietnamese lanterns and colors that are commonly found in Vietnam while giving the rustic impression of Havana. Since this was a welcome event, we wanted everyone to relax and enjoy the breezy beach. Considering Indian weddings require to be dressed up heavily, the idea for this event was to be semi-casually dressed so we can party the night away.”
After Party
The bride shares, “Our next event was named ‘Fiesta En Blanco’, an all-white neon afterparty. After-parties are generally considered to cater only to youngsters. However, this one welcomed everyone, regardless of their age. Drinks and food were highly customized to suit the theme of the event. And, needless to say, everyone grooved till the wee hours of the morning!”
Pool Party
Inspired by a childhood treat, the Paddle Pop Ice Cream, the couple decided to host a pool party brimming with vibrant hues. Kashmera recollects, “We named this event the ‘Paddle Pop Phool Party’. Paddle Pop Ice cream has been a childhood favorite and its bright color palette is perfect for a pool party! We had an epic time during this celebration with a DJ in the pool. The decor vision included inspirations from Greece and Dior Summer 2024. It was a tricky design brief but our wedding squad was incredibly creative and managed to pull it off!”
Sangeet
Kashmera shares, “ Who doesn’t love a tried and tested Bollywood-themed sangeet? After the rigorous partying, we wanted this event to be cosy and mellow. However, we also added a dash of glam that one expects at a Bollywood sangeet. Dim lights and ivory blooms adorned the venue while giving it an elegant look.”
Wedding
“Our initials as a couple are ‘IK’. ‘Ik’ in Punjabi also means one and to start our blessings with Waheguru’s verse of Ik Onkar. For this day, everything had to be perfect and the mood board was revisited several times before we finalised the look. The mandap exuded a sense of serenity and was flanked by the stunning landscape. Each guest was thoroughly immersed in the rituals as a strategic sound setup ensured each verse of the wedding ceremony was audible”, says Kashmera.
Reception
The festivities came to a glamorous end as bride Kashmera shares, “The reception flaunted a ‘Hollywood meets Bollywood’ theme. With this being the last event of our celebration, we wanted it to create a memorable visual impact. A stunning music setup, a vast dancefloor and LED lights put everyone in the mood to shake a leg to their favorite Bollywood chartbusters.”
