From a Garba TikTok to a wedding filled with filmy fair and football themed after party, Kinjal Patel and Nihar Vithlani’s journey is a testament to the magic of embracing the unexpected. The London-based couple celebrated their love with a vibrant destination getaway amidst the tropical charm of Thailand, planned to perfection by WeddingSutra Favorite – Weddings by Evensia.

How they met
Kinjal shares, “ Sometimes, the most magical love stories begin with the click of a button. For us, it all started with a Garba TikTok and a bold Instagram DM. Nihar came across a video I had made—doing what every good Gujarati does—and without missing a beat, slid into my inbox declaring he had fallen in love. I had no clue who he was, but something about his charm, audacity, and that glint of confidence instantly caught my attention. That one message turned into hours of conversation, daily FaceTime calls, and eventually, our first date in a cozy little spot in London. That night, between laughter and a Bollywood quiz showdown (which he shockingly won!), I just knew—he was the one.
From then on, it was like we were living in our own Bollywood film. We bonded over our love for movies, quizzes, and long walks through the city, quickly becoming best friends who laughed endlessly and explored life hand in hand. We still act like we’re in our own film—challenging each other to Bollywood quizzes, dreaming big, and believing in a love that feels timeless, cinematic, and always full of joy.”

The Proposal
“In true filmy fashion, Nihar whisked me away to Mexico under the pretense of a relaxing vacation. He claimed he’d found a free photoshoot through the hotel—which instantly raised suspicions since he’s famously camera-shy! But, being the Instagram-loving girl that I am, I happily got glammed up, ready to strike my best poses. As we walked through the resort snapping pictures, we eventually arrived at the most breathtaking setup on the sand, adorned with fairy lights and florals. And then, I saw the words: “Will You Marry Me?” Before I could fully process, he was down on one knee delivering a heartfelt speech that completely melted my heart. It was perfect—a dream come true, and hands down, one of the best days of our lives. ”

Wedding Venue
Set right on the most gorgeous beach with soft white sand and the clearest blue ocean we had ever seen, the stunning Le Méridien Khao Lak Resort and Spa, Thailand was a dream come true. Getting married on a beach was something both of us had always dreamed of, and this place was exactly what we had envisioned. The moment we stepped onto the resort, we were completely in awe, but it was the sunset that truly sealed the deal for us. Watching the sky turn shades of pink and gold over the ocean made us instantly picture our Welcome Party there, filled with laughter, games, and all our favorite people. It was the perfect way to kick off our wedding celebrations, and honestly, looking back, we couldn’t have imagined saying “I do” anywhere else.”

Wedding Planning
The couple envisioned a grand Bollywood-style wedding with a modern twist—one that honored their Indian roots while celebrating the vibrant, multicultural life they built growing up in London. The bride, a professional dancer who once performed at IIFA Madrid with Shiamak Davar’s troupe, wanted to make sure their sangeet was a true spectacle of song, dance, and cinematic flair. From the beachfront mandap to the stage-worthy performances, every detail was infused with fun, filmy energy and heartfelt celebration.
Planned by Weddings by Evensia over 18 months, the festivities in Thailand were a true fusion of cultures and personalities. Whether it was the vibrant Bollywood pool party inspired by the bride’s favorite lyrics or the football-fueled after-party that honored the groom’s lifelong passion, each event captured their essence as a couple. Sentimental yet playful, traditional yet modern, their wedding was a reflection of two worlds coming together—proving that love shines brightest when it’s a joyful blend of individuality and shared dreams.
Reflecting on the experience, the bride shares “Planning a wedding is no small task, and when you’re planning a destination wedding across different time zones, you need a team you can fully trust. From the very start of our 18-month journey, the Evensia team became more than just our wedding planners—they became our family. They patiently listened to our endless ideas, understood exactly what made us happy, and always went above and beyond to bring our vision to life. As a very particular bride, I knew I needed a team that would handle my many requests with care—and Evensia did just that. From my deep obsession with every little décor element to the big, showstopping ideas, they executed everything flawlessly. Their attention to detail was truly next level—whether it was designing the most breathtaking mandap or curating the cutest hamper bags that our guests loved, they thought of everything. Even their idea for our table seating plan was so original and made such a huge impact!
Beyond the planning and décor, their guest management and organization were simply outstanding. With a wedding of this scale, things are bound to pop up—but whenever a minor issue arose, the Evensia team was right there, fixing it before we even had to worry. Their problem-solving skills, quick thinking, and grace under pressure meant that we never once felt stressed. One of the things we appreciated the most was how accommodating they were with our time zone differences between London and India. They adjusted to our schedules, made communication seamless, and ensured we always felt heard and prioritized. Wedding Functions
Welcome Party
The wedding celebrations kicked off with an all-white welcome party against the most breathtaking beach backdrop. The boho-chic soiree came to life with fairy lights twinkling over the soft white sand, a gorgeous dance floor set against the sunset, and everyone clad in white.

Haldi
For their Haldi, the couple wanted to keep things traditional yet full of fun and color. Surrounded by the vibrant hues of yellow, orange, and pink, with flower petals filling the air, the occasion was pure joy. One of the most wholesome moments of the celebration, the couple looked radiant and very much in love as they were showered with blessings (and lots of haldi!) by their family and friends.

The Pool Party
The pool party was all about fun, fun, and more fun, inspired by the vibrancy of pool party games and lots of fun cocktails. The couple went all out with a carnival feel, full of bright colors, upbeat music, and the most electric energy from all the guests.

Sangeet
With a stunning purple and gold theme, shimmering décor, and a backdrop of crystal doves, the Sangeet evening was the definition of Bollywood glamour. The whole setup was glitz, glam, and pure magic. The highlight of the night of course was the dance! From emotional family performances to high-energy Bollywood numbers, the night was filled with love, excitement, and showstopping moments.
Kinjal shares, “I had always dreamed of a sangeet full of performances, but my husband has always been shy about dancing in front of a crowd. He swore he would never dance at his own wedding. But knowing how much it meant to me, he agreed to perform with me—and not only did he dance, he completely stole the show! I think he had been secretly lying about hating to dance all along because the way he embraced the moment with so much energy and joy made it one of the most magical nights of our lives.”
She adds, “Seeing him step out of his comfort zone just to make me happy was the grandest romantic gesture of all, and in that moment, I knew I was marrying a man who would always put my happiness first.”

Wedding
The wedding was everything the bride had ever dreamed of and more—a stunning pink floral mandap set right on the beach, with the gorgeous ocean as a backdrop. It was beyond picturesque, with florals wrapped around the mandap, soft pink hues, and the most romantic setting imaginable.
Walking down a mirrored aisle surrounded by her dream décor, the bride felt like she was in a fairytale. The entire setup was breathtaking—a picture-perfect blend of romance, grandeur, and timeless beauty. “It was the wedding décor I had always envisioned, and seeing it come to life on our big day was one of the most surreal and unforgettable moments of my life.”

Reception
“For our grand finale, we went for an ultra-classy black-tie Reception with white and gold décor that was straight out of a royal wedding. From the grand floral arrangements to the elegant white draping and crystal chandeliers hanging over our dance floor, every detail was perfect. I wanted the décor to feel timeless and sophisticated, and it turned out exactly as I had envisioned—classic, chic, and absolutely breathtaking. It was the most magical way to end our wedding celebrations, dancing the night away as husband and wife, surrounded by all the people we love.”

Advice for couples
“Enjoy every moment of the planning process because, trust me, it flies by. It’s so easy to get caught up in the tiny details, but at the end of the day, what truly matters is the love you’re celebrating. Stay true to your vision, make decisions together, and don’t stress over the little things that don’t go to plan—because no one will notice!
Most importantly, take little moments just for the two of you throughout the wedding. It’s your special day, and soaking it all in together is what makes it truly magical. Oh, and brides—wear comfy shoes under your lehenga! My feet definitely thanked me for the trainers I wore throughout our sangeet event.”
