From being “Opposites in love” to “Happily ever after”, Kripa Shewkani and Shlok Ganatra’s wedding wove a tale as beautiful as their journey of love. Hosted amidst the tropical beauty of Thailand, their vibrant festivities unfolded with memorable moments, each of which was captured by WeddingSutra Favorite – Knotty Affair by Namit and Vipul.
How they met
Kripa shares, “When we first met at a Math Tuition class in our first year of college, we developed a comical love-hate relationship! Even though we felt an instant attraction, we were completely different people – He, an outgoing, extroverted, crazy person, and me, an absolute nerd with her head in the books. I was the kind of person who would prompt the teacher about the homework, much to his and everyone else’s annoyance. Over time, however, we became friends and started walking back home from class together. Even though our colleges were different, he became a constant in my life.”
She adds, “One day, he proclaimed that he wanted to date me, and my initial instinct was denial despite my feelings, as I had never imagined dating someone. But my feelings superseded my fears, and over the next 10 years, we shared our ups and downs, our joys and sorrows, and went through life hand-in-hand. From growing up together to now growing old together, our journey has been and will continue to be a rollercoaster ride”!
Wedding Planning
For their dream destination wedding, the couple embraced the tropical beauty and coastal charm of Thailand, hosting their festivities at the luxurious Avani+Khao Lak Resort. Milestones and Memories Events planned the celebrations, while the talented team of Knotty Affair by Namit and Vipul lent their expertise to capturing their special moments.
Kripa shares, “It has simply been one of the best experiences. The team has been so patient, understanding, and calm throughout the wedding. Despite how busy we were, they navigated the wedding beautifully and ensured every moment was captured, including our stunning portrait and couple shots. It was a seamless experience from day one. The team was also really fun to work with, and every moment was memorable”.
Wedding Functions
Sangeet
An evening of glitz and glamor kicked off the festivities with panache. The bride dazzled in a sleek silver lehenga while the fashion-forward groom sported a black and silver suit as they entered in style. The happy couple exchanged rings and cut a tiered white cake to great applause before riveting performances by them and their loved ones pumped the audience up!
Haldi
The next morning started on a lively note with a beautiful garden Haldi ceremony. Dressed in matching ensembles with floral details, the couple looked radiant as they sat in front of a vibrant yellow floral setup, surrounded by their loved ones. Their friends and family anointed them with haldi and showered them with flower petals in a celebration filled with joy!
Wedding
The couple tied the knot with an enchanting beachside wedding, framed by the symphony of waves and the beauty of the sunset sea. Everything from the decor to the mandap was imagined in a romantic palette of soft pinks and ivory, making for an ethereal vision. She channeled soft femininity in a blush pink lehenga and matched the breezy beach vibe with little details in her ensemble like seashells in her kaleerein.
After Party
The festivities came to a rocking close with a stylish After party. The newlyweds cut a fashionable figure as they arrived hand-in-hand and toasted with delicious cocktails. The evening saw rousing music and dance as the revelries continued into the night.
