Kyraa Manchandani and Hardik Pahwa, Avani+ Khao Lak Resort, Thailand
Backed by foamy tides, this couple’s white and purple beachside mandap was the epitome of minimalistic glam.
A hearty dose of glamour, endless beachside frolics and groovy dance sessions marked Kyraa Manchandani and Hardik Pahwa’s union in Thailand. This destination wedding was a contemporary celebration that paid an ode to spiritual traditions. Photographed by WeddingSutra Favorite – Camlition Productions, the pictures accurately captured the essence of their celebrations.
How They Met
Kyraa shares, “We were introduced in 2009 by a common friend. We remained friends for a few years and eventually lost touch. However, as fate would have it, we reconnected and started dating in 2016.”
Wedding Venue
For their destination wedding, the couple set their sights on Thailand. Ardent admirers of the sea and with a deep-rooted love for the beaches, the couple chose Khao Lak in Thailand which boasts numerous secluded beaches and posh properties, Kyraa shares, “We both are complete water babies and dream of living on the beach, so when wedding discussions started, we knew we had to get married on a beach. We looked at multiple locations in Khao Lak & Mai Khao but Avani+ Khao Lak Resort’s interiors and vibe matched ours perfectly.”
Wedding Planning
Hosted in November, the union was a family affair planned and designed by the bride’s sister. Kyraa shares, “Since she knew us both inside and out, she was able to create, design and execute everything for us. We didn’t share a brief of what we wanted any event to look like, because we trusted her vision and that paid off!”
Capturing their precious memories were Camlition Productions who delighted the couple with their expertise. Right from candid party shots to emotionally fuelled moments, each part of the wedding was photographed with rich details.
Wedding Functions
Sufi Night
Glitz, mystique and music came together at the Sufi Night where the couple had a gala time with their loved ones in tow. Persian carpets, arches with complex latticework, fairylights and a patterned dance floor made the event a treat for the senses. While the guests rustled up elaborate dance performances for the couple, a live singer had everyone tapping their toes.
Chowki
Tradition was at the forefront during the Chowki where both the families prayed to the goddess for a happy marriage. Hues of red, gold and white decorated the indoor venue. Garlands of white blooms, a red and white printed backdrop for the stage along with a live singer gave the event a strong spiritual vibe.
Pool Party and Haldi
At the beachside haldi, the guests enjoyed the beauty of Thailand’s palm-fringed shores. Kyraa shares, “Our haldi took place on the beach, which ended with us inside the sea at sunset. The sunset on both days – during the haldi and the pheras were beautiful!” Pink flamingo-themed decor, water slides and quirky pool floats kept the guests in high spirits as they cooled by the pool. After their frolics, the couple went on to celebrate their haldi which was adorned with sunflowers, cane furnishings and a quick dip in the gentle waves.
Wedding
The wedding celebration kicked off with a boisterous baraat with the groom arriving on an ATV with his close friends in tow. The beachside wedding featured a beautiful wedding mandap with a white latticework roof and pillars decorated with lush foliage. For the guests, gilded chairs were placed in front of the mandap with a white aisle leading up to the mandap. After the sundowner pheras, the couple posed on the beach where they enjoyed a dramatic sunset.
After Party
Kyraa shares, “We share an obsession with great cocktails so we had fun things like ‘mango sticky rice’ and more that everyone loved. As a photo-op at our afterparty, we had a big ball pit which everyone eventually jumped into! It was the perfect end to the wedding.”
Advice For Couples
The bride shares, “Choose your crew wisely, encompassing not only vendors but also the friends in your inner circle; they can either make or break your wedding experience. Invest time in identifying those who understand you and can bring your vision to life.”
