A Star Wars-inspired after-party, a music festival-inspired sangeet and a welcome dinner that transported guests to Havana, this destination wedding in Jaipur was spectacular!
When Lavin Bhojwani, from Chile, and Kirti Nanwani, from Paraguay, decided to bring their families together for their wedding, Jaipur was the natural choice for a celebration rooted in the scale and energy of a big fat Indian wedding. Planned, designed and produced by WeddingSutra Favorite – The Wedding Corp, the wedding at Hyatt Regency Jaipur Mansarovar unfolded over four nights. With close to 350 guests travelling from across the globe, the celebrations brought together Rajasthan’s rich visual heritage with the couple’s international backgrounds.
Wedding Planning
Lavin and Kirti came in with a clear brief: the décor needed to feel personal to them while still delivering the scale and energy of a big fat Indian wedding. They were open to ideas and gave The Wedding Corp’s planners and designers, Krunali Gokani and Danveer Kaur Birdi, the freedom to develop the creative direction across the celebrations.
“The couple had a clear sense of the overall energy they wanted, but were very open to the themes we proposed. That trust gave us the freedom to make each function different while keeping the wedding cohesive,” share Krunali Gokani and Danveer Kaur Birdi of The Wedding Corp.
Across four nights, The Wedding Corp team handled the planning, design, production and hospitality for a series of distinct experiences. With 206 rooms and staggered check-ins mapped across multiple days, the team also coordinated guests travelling from the Dominican Republic, Chile, Paraguay, Dubai and beyond, managing varied travel timelines while ensuring a seamless, distinctly Indian hospitality experience. “We wanted guests to look forward to what was coming next. Every event had its own concept, décor language and energy, so there was always something new to experience,” they add. This approach allowed the celebrations to move from old-world Havana to a galaxy-inspired party, traditional Rajasthan, three of the world’s biggest music festivals and a Moroccan-inspired dinner, before ending with a sophisticated white reception.
Wedding Functions
Welcome Dinner
The celebrations began with an old-world Havana-inspired welcome dinner. The property was dressed in vibrant colours, tropical details and elements that brought a relaxed Cuban atmosphere to the evening. Guests were treated to Cuban chocolate cigars and a playful limbo activity, while the dance floor stayed busy through the night. With many guests being Latin Americans of Indian origin, the evening brought the couple’s two cultural backgrounds together in a natural way.
After Party
The evening then shifted to a galaxy-themed after party, with cosmic lighting, futuristic décor and high-energy music. The theme also reflected Lavin’s personal interests, with the groom being a self-confessed Star Wars fan. Lightsabers and references to the franchise featured across the décor and props, giving the after-party a playful, personal touch.
Mehendi
The mehendi brought the wedding back to its Jaipur setting. Inspired by traditional Rajasthani design, the décor featured rich colours, folk motifs and regional details. The overall setting was rooted in the local aesthetic, offering guests a more traditional expression of the destination.
Sangeet
The sangeet took inspiration from three of the world’s biggest music festivals: Tomorrowland, Ultra and Coachella. Each section of the evening was designed around the distinctive identity of one festival, with the music, lighting, visuals and choreography changing accordingly. The result was a high-energy sangeet that combined elaborate production with performances and music inspired by the global festival circuit.
Wedding
For the wedding ceremony, the team drew from Rajasthan’s royal heritage, creating a grand setting suited to the Jaipur destination. The groom’s only specific request for the wedding was an elephant baraat. The traditional procession added to the scale of the ceremony and gave Lavin’s entry a distinctly regal character.
Post-Wedding Dinner and Cocktail
The post-wedding dinner moved away from the Rajasthani aesthetic and took inspiration from Morocco. Warm lanterns, jewel tones and patterned décor created a setting that was intimate and visually distinct from the earlier events.
A relaxed cocktail hour gave guests time to mingle and unwind between the larger celebrations. The setting was designed to be informal and comfortable, offering a break from the more elaborate events.
Sit-Down Reception
The wedding concluded with an all-white sit-down reception. The clean, sophisticated aesthetic was a clear departure from the colourful and theme-driven celebrations that came before it.
