Leesha and Kunal Relwani, Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City, Dubai
This intimate Dubai wedding blended contemporary design with cherished Sindhi traditions, resulting in celebrations that felt elegant and immersive.
Leesha and Kunal Relwani’s intimate 150-guest Sindhi wedding was a celebration that balanced elegance with warmth, with each event having its own distinct identity while remaining part of a cohesive story. Designed and planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – Ikigaii Planners, the multi-day festivities reflected the couple’s vision of creating immersive guest experiences that felt personal, intentional, and deeply rooted in togetherness.

How They Met
Leesha and Kunal’s story began long before they started dating. Their mothers had grown up together in Hong Kong before moving to the UK, which meant the two had known of each other through family circles for over two decades. Years later, that familiar connection grew into a relationship, eventually culminating in a wedding celebration with their closest family and friends.

Wedding Planning
From the outset, Leesha and Kunal were clear that they didn’t want every function to look or feel the same. Instead, they envisioned each celebration with its own mood and personality while maintaining a sense of continuity across the wedding. The Mehendi embraced bright colours and playful traditional touches. The Sangeet took on a more glamorous mood with a subtle ‘night under the stars’ aesthetic. The wedding ceremony leaned towards soft florals and timeless elegance, while the Reception concluded the celebrations with a refined, contemporary look. Together, the events struck a thoughtful balance between tradition and modern design.
The couple entrusted Ikigaii Planners with bringing this vision to life. “We put our trust in them, and we are so glad we did that because they perfectly executed our vision and went above and beyond with everything,” they shared. They especially appreciated the team’s transparency throughout the planning process and their ability to deliver a polished celebration while remaining mindful of the budget. It was the thoughtful details incorporated throughout the festivities that made the experience feel even more personal.
Reflecting on the celebrations, Vaibbhav Arora and Heeital Rathod of Ikigaii Planners shared, “Leesha and Kunal trusted us completely, which allowed us to create celebrations that felt true to them. Every event had its own identity, but together they told one cohesive story. Our focus throughout was on creating experiences that felt personal, seamless, and memorable.”

Wedding Functions
Welcome
The celebrations began with an intimate Welcome Dinner that brought family and friends together in a relaxed setting before the wedding festivities commenced. Focused on meaningful conversations and reconnecting with loved ones, the evening set a warm and welcoming tone for the celebrations ahead.

Mehndi
The Mehndi embraced the vibrant spirit of a traditional Sindhi celebration. Bright décor, colourful floral details, and lively entertainment created a cheerful atmosphere, while traditional ladda singers added an authentic cultural touch. Interactive experiences, including a traditional gola station, encouraged guests to engage with the celebration, making the afternoon feel festive, relaxed, and personal.

Sangeet
The Sangeet introduced a more glamorous mood with a soft “night under the stars” concept. Warm lighting, subtle sparkle, and elegant styling created an inviting setting for an evening of dance performances, music, and heartfelt moments shared with family and friends. While visually striking, the celebration retained an intimate feel throughout.

Wedding
In contrast to the vibrant celebrations that preceded it, the wedding ceremony embraced a softer aesthetic. Pastel florals, delicate detailing, and a timeless mandap created an elegant setting that allowed the rituals and emotions to take centre stage. Watching the vision come together for the first time became one of the couple’s most memorable moments.

Reception
The celebrations concluded with a Reception that embraced understated sophistication. A palette of neutral tones, soft lighting, and refined styling created a contemporary setting where the focus remained on celebrating with loved ones. It was a fitting finale to a wedding that prioritised thoughtful design, meaningful experiences, and genuine connection.
