Surrounded by coastal beauty and flaunting a mix of modern aesthetics and tradition, this destination wedding in Bahrain was a stunner!
When Meghna Tharwani and Sneh Bajaj set out to celebrate their union in Bahrain, they envisioned a multi-day celebration that balanced tradition with contemporary flair. Bringing this vision to life was a creative collaboration between the planning team at WeddingSutra Favorite – Kkings Events, the design specialists at WeddingSutra Favorite – Design HQ, and the storytellers behind the lens at WeddingSutra Favorite – Raabta Studios. Each event unfolded as a thoughtfully designed experience, blending rich cultural cues with modern aesthetics, while the photographers captured every moment with elegance and emotion.
Wedding Planning
The wedding of Meghna and Sneh in was envisioned as a curated journey that balanced deep-rooted Indian traditions with a sleek, contemporary edge. The planning team at Kkings Events orchestrated the multi-day celebration seamlessly, while Design HQ translated the couple’s vision into immersive environments that evolved with each event. The festivities were hosted by Anchor Jay Karmani, whose energy kept the celebrations flowing, with music by DJ Alex setting the tone for the revelry and choreography by Cheena Dasani bringing the performances to life. Meanwhile, Raabta Studios documented the festivities with their signature candid storytelling.
The design brief centred on the idea of ‘Evolutionary Heritage’, beginning with intimate, soulful celebrations that honored the couple’s roots before transitioning into grand architectural statements and vibrant coastal experiences. “Each event was conceived as a chapter in a story,” shares Kinjal Adodra from Design HQ. “We wanted the design to evolve organically while still feeling cohesive and rooted in heritage.”
Wedding Functions
Bridal Mehndi
The celebrations opened with an atmosphere of refined intimacy. The garden was transformed into a sanctuary of high-end heritage, anchored by a striking palette of deep magenta and emerald green. A bicoloured canopy framed the space, while Mughal-inspired motifs lent the setting a jewel-toned elegance that felt both boutique and regal. “Mehndi is always about warmth and closeness,” explains Kinjal Adodra from Design HQ. “We chose rich jewel tones and traditional design elements to create an environment that felt intimate yet opulent.”
Sindhi Laada
For the Sindhi Laada, the aesthetic shifted to a sun-kissed dreamscape awash in butter yellow and lavender. Ornate arches, fresh florals and striped parasols created a setting that felt festive yet refined. The design captured the joy of a cherished family ritual while introducing a contemporary softness that complemented the daytime celebration. “We wanted the Sindhi Laada to feel celebratory and light-hearted,” notes Kinjal Adodra. “The pastel palette and playful details helped balance tradition with a cheerful, modern vibe.”
Sufi Night
As evening descended, the celebrations took on a mystical grandeur. The venue transformed into a dramatic, theatre-like setting anchored by a monumental stage framed with intricate Mughal arches and crystalline chandeliers. The ambience evoked regal anticipation, blending architectural legacy with polished modern design. “We aimed to evoke the romance and mystique associated with Sufi gatherings,” says Kinjal Adodra. “The grand arches and chandeliers created a sense of timeless elegance while keeping the aesthetic contemporary.”
Beach Party
Titled ‘Tide of Love’, the beach party brought a vibrant shift in mood. Bright surfboards, candy-colored signage and playful installations infused the setting with youthful coastal energy. Interactive experiences elevated the celebration, from a bespoke table tennis setup to a personalized beer pong table, creating a lively, immersive environment that encouraged guests to unwind and celebrate by the sea. “For the beach party, we embraced a more playful aesthetic,” shares Kinjal Adodra. “The idea was to create a chic coastal playground that felt relaxed, interactive and full of personality.”
Wedding
The grand finale unfolded as a breathtaking seaside ceremony where the ocean met floral artistry. At its heart stood an ethereal mandap crowned with a crystal-lined silver dome and draped in blush and ivory blooms. Against the sweeping horizon of the Bahraini coast, the altar created a vision of understated grandeur which was an elegant blend of stately sophistication and the natural beauty of the sea. “The wedding ceremony was designed to feel timeless and serene,” reflects Kinjal Adodra. “By pairing delicate florals with a crystal-accented mandap and the open sea as the backdrop, we created a setting that felt both majestic and effortlessly romantic.”
