Mokshita Bhan and Revant Adlakha, Alsisar Mahal, Rajasthan
This couple’s Rajasthani Mela-themed mehndi made a vibrant splash with quirky comic illustrations, ethnic prints and punchy hues.
With a love story that has been over a decade in the making, Mokshita Bhan and Revant Adlakha began a new chapter in their lives with a grand destination wedding near Bikaner in Rajasthan. Highly personalized and flaunting the local flavors, this wedding was planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – Weddings By Abhishek.
How They Met
Mokshita and Revant crossed paths at their IIT coaching classes and dated for 10 years. They completed school together, enrolled in the same engineering university, and went to the USA for further studies. And, as years went by they’ve travelled the world and enjoyed gastronomic delights while doing so!
Wedding Planning
Abhishek Jain from Weddings By Abhishek shares, “Mokshita and Revant were keen on a grand wedding and wanted the flavor of Rajasthan to resonate across the events. We ensured that a distinct theme was used for each event, from a Rajasthani mela mehndi, a Bollywood sangeet, a sunflower-themed mehndi and a pastel-hued wedding. Overall, it was a luxurious union against a majestic backdrop.”
Wedding Functions
Mehendi
A sunlit, Rajasthani-mela-themed mehndi was the first event on the cards. Bright hues of pink, orange and purple swathed the venue. Quirky decor elements like colour-blocked backdrops, comic-style illustrations of Rajasthani puppets and upturned suspended cane baskets gave the event a fun vibe. Nostalgia was also given a refreshing twist as a cart adorned with polaroids showcased the couple’s precious moments.
Sangeet
As ardent Bollywood buffs, the couple hosted a vintage Bollywood-style sangeet ceremony. Vintage light bulbs gave the venue a soft glow while retro movie posters gave the celebration a dash of old-school glam. Red blooms, LED signages, a special seating area for the couple and disco balls completed the flamboyant design.
Haldi
Making the haldi ceremony as sunny as possible, the couple chose to adorn it with sunflowers as well as marigolds. Balancing the bright hues of yellow, were earthy hues of pampas grass and tropical leaves. Suspended yellow blooms, stands with cane baskets filled with flower petals and yellow cutlery made this a vibrant event.
Wedding
Abhishek Jain from Weddings By Abhishek shares, “The bride was persistent in having a sundowner varmala. However, the baraat was late and the groom wanted to make his bride’s wish come true. So, the varmala ceremony took place first and after that, the baraat. Revant’s baraat entry was inspired by Shahrukh Khan and it was uber stylish!” The pastel-hued wedding mandap made a striking contrast against the dark sky. Dainty light pink blooms and white garlands gave the wedding mandap a dreamy look.
