Crafted with ivory-hued lattice work and florals, this couple’s sundowner wedding mandap will leave you awestruck!
Neelima Makhijani and Mohit Moolchandani’s wedding was grand, elegant and everything fun! Planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – Innocept Studio, this union was quintessentially Sindhi and peppered with fun moments.
Wedding Planning
The couple shares, “ We wanted our wedding to be dreamy and colorful. We love vibrant hues, but at the same time, also wanted an element of elegance to be included in every setup.”
Team Innocept Studio shared, “ Neelima was a very hands-on bride. Being a creative individual, she designed the e-invite and stationery. As for the wedding planning, hospitality was of absolute importance. Plus, the bride also had her bridal entry track customised.”
Wedding Functions
Welcome
The celebrations started with a vibrant welcome party where the guests were welcomed with refreshing drinks and fragrant blooms. As the guests mingled freely with each other, the couple and their parents ensured everyone received a warm welcome.
Path
After the welcome, the family and a group of close-knit loved ones offered their prayers to their Guru. The Sukhmani Sahib Path ensured everyone felt calm and rejuvenated as the festivities began. The setup for this particular day was tastefully minimalistic with everyone expressing their spiritual selves freely.
FPL
After the serene prayer ceremony, the couple hosted a play ‘Premier League’ event where they had a blast indulging in cricket and other casual games, like, beer pong. The competition was stiff as, both, the bride’s and groom’s sides fought for every run. Onlookers of the game enjoyed chilled pints of beer while some of them even took a dip in the pool with the little ones.
Engagement
Glamour levels were elevated at the engagement party where everyone turned up at their stylish best sporting tuxedos and indo-western gowns. Colourful spotlights, a live band, a vast stage, lush floral backdrops and cold pyros ensured everyone was left awed. The couple exchanged rings on stage and performed a romantic waltz while being serenaded by a live singer.
Antakshri Night
The Antakshri Night took everyone down the nostalgia lane. A beloved childhood game for many Indians, the Antakshri remains a favourite amongst youngsters and the older generations. Knowing this, the couple hosted a glam Antakshri-themed night where teams competed against each other. Arches crafted of pampas grass, comfy seating arrangements and teepee-like structures adorned with fairy lights gave the outdoor event a cosy look.
Mehndi
The next morning, the ladies geared up to get their palms patterned with henna. Hosted by the lake, the sunlit event featured a live band, a musical entry by the couple and plenty of lively moments on the dancefloor. Aqua green, white and pink hues refreshed the eyes while ethnic patterns added a desi touch to the event.
Sangeet and After Party
Lit up by fairylights, candles and LED signage – the sangeet exuded sophisticated glitz. The granite-like floor polished to the hilt, gave the venue a plush look while the guests turned up in stylish ensembles fit for the red carpet. As the guests took to the stage, the couple was left amazed at their performances.
The after-party was just as fun, as everyone let their hair down and danced to their favourite tracks while enjoying a variety of cocktails.
Haldi
Hosted separately, the bride and groom’s haldi flaunted a similar yellow-hued design theme. Yellow floral arches, cane baskets brimming with blooms and other minimalistic decor elements punctuated the event. After the pooja rituals, Neelima and Mohit with their loved ones enjoyed the playful ritual of haldi application.
Wedding
For the wedding, all stops were pulled to orchestrate the perfect union. While Mohit entered with an energetic baraat, Neelima made jaws drop with her graceful walk down the aisle with traditional dancers. A white aisle with lattice world arches contrasted with the night sky. The couple exchanged garlands with a burst of cold pyros and were showered with rose petals. Later, the newlyweds greeted all their guests on stage and enjoyed the festivities.
