Nikita and Nishank, Abu Dhabi

Little did Nikita know that Reconnecting with her college mate on Instagram would lead to them tying the knot a few years later. Nikita and Nishank got married recently in Abu Dhabi, and the festivities were conceptualized and executed by WeddingSutra Favorite – eLaR Entertainment. The bride shares details from their wedding below.

How They Met
Nikita shares, “Nishank and I were classmates in junior college, but never got the opportunity to know each other well. We reconnected in January 2019 and felt like we’d known each other since forever. As the conversation unfolded, we realized we both shared a lot of things in common, starting from our zodiac signs to our beliefs and values. We then decided to go on a date to a famous pasta joint and a drive post-dinner. Everything just felt right from the start.”

Wedding Venue
“We were always keen on having a destination wedding and wanted to bring all our closest family members and friends together to celebrate. After narrowing down on the UAE, we visited a few properties in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and fell in love with Fairmont Bab Al Bahr from the moment we stepped inside it.”

Wedding Proposal
The blushing bride shares, “Since the day we started dating, it was a given we’d end up being life partners. I never expected a grand proposal to come my way and was blown by the efforts Nishank had put into wooing me in the most adorable way, with the place decorated with flowers and him waiting for me to say ‘Yes’ before we celebrated with the clinging of our wine glasses and a scrumptious meal.”

Wedding Planning
Nikita shares, “Micromanaging work comes naturally to both of us, and having eLaR Entertainment with Poonish and his team, on board was the perfect choice for our vision. They are known for their breathtaking special effects, and they aced all our functions. For my wedding outfits, I custom-designed them under my home label called Label –  Nikita Ahuja.”

Wedding Functions

Sundowner
This rendezvous with close family and friends began with a sundown party set on a magnificent pier. The sun casting an orange hue in the background added to the picturesque venue which was lit up with twinkling fairy lights, lanterns, and lit ‘Love’ signage.

Brunch
The baraatis headed straight to the party dressed in uber-chic outfits following an airport look theme, while team eLaR Entertainment took care of their check-ins. They kickstarted the celebrations by jamming to the tunes of Matt West on the saxophone, along with DJ Elias and DJ Madoc on the console. A custom-made gin bar added a fun element to the event. All eyes were on the soon-to-wed couple; Nikita wore a white, shimmery slit dress and Nishank looked dapper in a white shirt and trousers, with a brown suede jacket. The bridesmaids wore matching pastel outfits which complemented Nikita’s ensemble.

Sangeet
The sangeet was a grand affair, designed by eLaR Entertainment, festooned with red and gold decor elements. The couple made a grand entry spinning in a white Rolls Royce convertible. The bride-to-be wore a powder blue lehenga and the groom opted for a white sherwani. Both were showered with red and gold heart‐shaped confetti as they entered, and the night unfolded with fantastic dance numbers performed by the couple and their families. Nishank stole the show by going down on his knee as the couple exchanged their rings.

Wedding
The scenic wedding ceremony held near the Grand Staircase was set against the majestic background of the blue waters. Soft pink and red florals adorned the mandap overlooking the iconic Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. Nishank entered with his baraat in a red Ferrari to the tunes of the hit Bollywood song, ‘Saajanji Ghar Aaye.’ He wore a white sequined sherwani and turban and was welcomed with a splendid flower shower. Nikita walked down the aisle to the melody of the Bollywood song ‘Ve Mahi,’ and she looked no less than a star in her shades of pink embroidered lehenga.

Reception
The finale to their grand wedding curated by eLaR Entertainment was a glittering affair with crystals, and the newlyweds’ first dance saw them performing amidst dry ice clouds and a white confetti shower. After the reception, guests held LED batons and grooved to percussionist Tarang’s beats and DJ Madoc’s tracks at the after-party, all night long.

“Get involved in every detail and avoid subletting work. Right from the venue to the itinerary and decor to room hampers, Nishank and I were involved in every step of the way. Setting the budgets right from the beginning will help to fulfill all of your expectations.”
