Palak Jain and Akshay Singhal, Trident Hotel Udaipur
A futuristic sangeet, a rustic bhaat event and an intimate wedding - this couple’s destination wedding in Udaipur flaunted a plethora of stunning themes.
Rooted in tradition yet reflecting a contemporary design aesthetic, Palak Jain and Akshay Singhal’s destination wedding was a refreshing one planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – Ella Weddings & Events. Designing their wedding invites was WeddingSutra Favorite – Pink Whistle Man who with their design skills gave the guests a sneak peek of what the wedding had in store for them.
Wedding Planning
Palak shares, “We’ve always loved the architectural beauty of Indian palaces. Hence a destination wedding was the obvious choice. I wanted the designs/mood boards to be fresh and something different from what’s been done all over. We wanted it to be a memorable experience for everyone with impeccable hospitality. All said and done I think Mavis Fernandes from Ella Weddings & Events paid attention to each detail and requirement of ours and made it a successful and memorable event!”
As a bride who was particular about the stationery and invitations, Palak chose Pink Whistle Man to design her wedding invitations. A reflection of the couple’s vibrant personas and in tune with their design sensibilities, WeddingSutra Favorite – Pink Whistle Man aced their design skills with this invite.
And to ensure the couple and their squad didn’t miss a single beat as they took the stage by storm on sangeet night was WeddingSutra Favorite – Sumit Khetan taking charge of the choreography.
Weddings Functions
Mehndi
For the mehndi, the decor was simple with yellow blooms adorning the entryway. Wispy branches and cane baskets decorated with the same blooms added a dash of whimsy to the event while guests chilled by the poolside and enjoyed the Rajasthani sun.
Tilak
Exuding old-school elegant glam with red blooms, crystal vases and vintage candelabras, the tilak was a luxurious celebration. The seating area, especially, stood out as it was swathed in hues of white and lit up by lanterns. Customized cutlery and mirrorwork tables added to the glitz while fire dancers added a dash of thrill to the event.
Haldi
Adorned with fresh yellow and orange blooms, the haldi celebration overlooked the hills and the lake. Basking in the sunshine, the couple had a gala time mingling with their loved ones and enjoying the stunning vistas. Additionally, stalls creating customised perfumes and lipsticks kept the guests entertained while providing them with souvenirs from the wedding to take home and reminisce.
Bhaat
“We took inspiration from rustic elements of India and created a rural atmosphere as huts were built from scratch with traditional hand-painted walls and carts. Artists, like, a tota pandit, potters and many others transported guests to a different world away from the city”, shares Palak. The groom’s bhaat, on the other hand, was a simple one hosted indoors with a yellow floral decor.
Sangeet
Palak shares, “For the sangeet, we amped up the glamour levels. The entrance was lit up with arches made of red lights. We wanted to transport the guests to a futuristic dimension and hence we ensured the sound and lights were just perfect for the event.”
Wedding
Mavis Fernandes from Ella Weddings & Events shares, “The couple wanted the event to have an earthy vibe. We blended the decor with the natural environment to make everything look seamless. Lots of foliage, red blooms and fairy lights were incorporated around the venue. Plus, the wedding mandap was specifically designed keeping the design of the bride’s house in mind. Also, the varmala ceremony was an elaborate affair. We had a Shiv Parvati holographic interaction along with dancers and pandits who performed the Ganga Aarti.”
Reception
Hosted under the night sky, the reception, saw many distinguished performances. Decorated with white arches, blooms and a seating arrangement that ensured everyone was cosy – this event was a sensational one.
