Long time sweethearts, Pallavi and Prabhas celebrated their union with a multi-cultural wedding at the Sofitel, Krabi
Pallavi runs HakunaMatata, a global fusion cuisine restaurant in Kolkata. Prabhas manufactures jute products. Pallavi and Prabhas met in junior college in Kolkata and fell in love. Here, Anand Rathi of Reels & Frames captured their beautiful destination wedding.
Wedding Venue
The couple wanted the magic of a destination wedding in the balmy tropics and so they chose Sofitel, Krabi a spa and golf resort on the beach.
Wedding Events
The bride is a Marwari while the groom is Punjabi, so the wedding comprised various wedding rituals representing both sides of the family.
Guests were treated to a traditional Thai welcome on their first night in Krabi. A 30-foot tower of champagne glasses was the highlight of the décor while local Thai dancers, fire breathers and kick boxers entertained the guests.
The following day, the Mehndi was celebrated in the afternoon with a nod to vibrant Punjabi culture including Punjabi folk singers and a giant truck shaped photo-booth. That evening, the sangeet was ‘aqua’ themed.
The wedding, held on the third day, was a more traditional affair and featured a floating mandap inside the pool!
