Hosted in the chic tropical haven of Phuket, Thailand, Sydney-based Piya Sodhi and Rubin Singh’s destination wedding combined traditional rituals with just the right amount of fun and frolic for the perfect destination getaway. Planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – Bliss Events Thailand, their festivities unfolded with stunning decor and joyous moments.
Wedding Planning
With most of their guests flying in from Australia, the couple chose the coastal paradise of Phuket for its stunning beach resorts, relaxed vibe, and convenient travel. For their wedding at The Westin Siray Bay Resort & Spa Phuket, they entrusted the renowned Thailand-based team of Bliss Events Thailand to plan and design every detail of the celebrations.
Wedding Functions
Haldi
Hosted at the divine Splash pool with stunning ocean views, the Haldi function was a sunkissed affair with a minimal yet refreshing decor of yellow flowers, lively music, dancing, and tons of group games. The couple opted for a subtle hue of sage green for the occasion and looked radiant as their loved ones surrounded them and smeared them with turmeric paste. After the ceremony, they headed to the pool with their loved ones for an afternoon of fun and relaxation.
Sangeet
The relaxed vibe carried onto the Sangeet function which was imagined as a party party. The decor of pampas grass, vibrant blooms, and fairy lights set a breezy, boho tone for the evening, complete with teepees and lounge chairs. The guests got their hands painted with henna before the evening revved up with music, and everyone hit the dance floor. Energetic performances by the couple and their families had everyone in high spirits for the whole evening.
Wedding
Imagined by the pool with a breathtaking backdrop of the ocean, the wedding ceremony unfolded with the most gorgeous decor of peach drapes and blooms. Crafted on a stage over the pool, the mandap, made of lush green foliage with pops of white and peach flowers, was the highlight of the occasion. Dressed in muted tones that matched the ethereal aura of the occasion, the bride and groom looked enchanting as they took their vows in a traditional destination ceremony.
Reception
The festivities came to a grand conclusion with an elegant Reception soiree. With a classic decor palette of white and red filled with plush floral arrangements and furnishings, the evening exuded sophistication. The bride and groom looked dazzling in a white lehenga and tuxedo respectively as they shared their first dance and cut the cake.
