Prachee and Abhishek, Mahabaleshwar
From exchanging notes of music to exchanging vows, here's how this love story culminated in a surreal hill-station wedding.
Prachee and Abhishek got married in an intimate yet opulent ceremony at Le Méridien Mahabaleshwar Resort & Spa. Their journey began with a chance meeting and was celebrated in a regal wedding that was shot by WeddingSutra Favorite – Plush Affairs. Here, bride Prachee takes us through the story of her marriage.
How They Met
“We met accidentally only a few months before we got hitched. Abhishek used to practise Hindustani classical music and we randomly bumped into each other during one of his music sessions. We exchanged Instagram handles but hardly spoke after that. After a few weeks, we decided to meet for coffee. One thing led to another and, by the end of 2018, we were meeting almost every weekend. I could see things working out for us and one day, out of the blue, he asked me whether he should speak to his parents about us getting married.”
Wedding Planning
Although the couple and their families had only three months to plan the wedding, all the ceremonies turned out to be even better than what they had expected. This was thanks to the dreamy backdrops provided by the vistas of Le Méridien Mahabaleshwar Resort & Spa, which were mesmerizingly captured by Plush Affairs.
Wedding Functions
Haldi
For the haldi, Prachee wore an elegant drape in the same shade of the turmeric paste smeared over her. She paired the saree with a bright-red blouse and looked absolutely radiant. The ceremony was attended by the couple’s loved ones, who showered them with their good wishes and blessings.
Sangeet
The magnificent outdoors of the hill-station resort proved to be an excellent venue for the sangeet. On the couple’s request, the decor was kept minimal, with dainty fairy lights adorning the majestic venue. The bride wore a gorgeous flowy white gown by Anish Rawra, paired with a cute tiara atop her head. The groom looked dapper in his green velvet tux by designer Abhishek Paatni.
Wedding
Pink was the color that dominated the outfits of the bride and the groom for the pheras. Decked in a dreamy, pastel-pink lehenga by Anamika Khanna, Prachee looked nothing less than a perfect Indian bride. Makeup artist Safa Malim gave her the perfect look for her big day. Her groom wore an elegant white sherwani, paired with a saafa and shawl that matched his bride’s pastel-hued outfit. The mandap for the pheras was adorned with stunning floral danglers.
Advice for Couples
“Enjoy every second of your wedding. Stay calm and never let that beautiful smile fade. It definitely makes you look amazing.”
