Rakhi Brahmbhatt and Mitra Patel, Suryagarh, Jaisalmer
Tradition, glamour and local Rajasthani heritage were seamlessly woven together at this destination wedding in Jaisalmer!
Paying homage to their cultural roots while hosting a series of high-octane celebrations, medical professionals Rakhi Brahmbhatt and Mitra Patel’s wedding was a profusion of vibrant colors and traditions. Based abroad, the couple entrusted the wedding planning to WeddingSutra Favorite – Kkings Events who amplified the couple’s vision.
Wedding Planning
Monil Shah from Kkings Events gives us an overview of how the events unfolded and the brief shared by the couple, “Rakhi and Mitra, both, stay abroad and wanted a regal wedding celebration. The couple has immense respect for their traditions and their wedding was steeped in Swaminarayan rituals. Guest comfort was also a topmost priority. Keeping all these pointers in mind, we came up with a plan that expressed their style while staying true to their roots.” Luxury was of the essence and the planning team pulled all the stops for the guests as they landed in style! Monil adds, “The guests arrived via a charter flight complete with music and Gujarati delicacies.”
The couple also orchestrated a pre-wedding photoshoot before the celebrations where they honored their heritage by donning traditional Gujarati attire and frolicking in the sand.
Wedding Functions
Welcome
The guests’ arrival was marked by a majestic welcome with Kalbeliya dancers leading to the venue, accompanied by Nagada Dhol beats. Eight dancers performed the classic Kalbeliya dance, creating a mesmerizing ambience. The guests were also greeted with a flower shower, setting a regal tone for the festivities.
Sangeet
The Sangeet night was highly inspired by Rajasthan’s vivid culture while retaining a ‘modern-glam’ vibe. Monil shares, “The venue awaited them with authentic cuisine, bazaar-inspired decor that featured intricate prints. This transported them to the bustling streets filled with the aroma of exotic spices and the allure of traditional crafts. Balancing the design scales was a sleek eye-level stage where everyone could show off their best moves.”
Haldi
The bride and groom’s haldi ceremonies were hosted separately and adorned with floral decor. The festivities then went on with a lively Holi celebration where along with slathering each other with powdered colors, the guests also shook a leg on the dance floor.
Wedding
Elegance and romance were merged to create a wedding ceremony fit for royalty. Mitra serenaded Rakhi with a song that he’d written himself right before the varmala. The pheras took place in the courtyard where the regal setup added to the magical evening. Post the wedding ceremony, everyone indulged in a feast where the decor was inspired by ace designer Sabyasachi’s aesthetics.
Sightseeing Experience
Immersing the guests in the spirit of Jaisalmer, the team planned a carefully curated excursion. “This was a unique departure from tradition as guests embarked on a comprehensive sightseeing tour of Jaisalmer, offering them a holistic experience of the city’s culture and heritage”, says Monil.
Reception
Ending the celebrations on a high note was a Bollywood-inspired extravaganza, that struck a fine balance between glamour and tradition. A silver balloon drop on top of the newlyweds culminated the event.
