Reshma Ramaiah, founder of wedding planning company Resh&Co and her long-time beau, Brendan, tied the knot at Il Borro, the Ferragamo-owned Tuscan village. From intimate ceremonies to vibrant festivities, every moment was a testament to love, family, and unforgettable memories.
How They Met
Reshma and Brendan’s love story began serendipitously in 2019, sparked by mutual friends and a clever LinkedIn message that marked their first conversation. What started as a friendship blossomed into a long-distance romance during the pandemic, with Brendan standing by Reshma as she built her wedding planning company. More than just a partner, Brendan became her biggest cheerleader, supporting her every step of the way.
Wedding Planning
As a wedding planner, Reshma was on the lookout for a unique place where she could begin the first chapter of her ‘happily ever after’. Il Borro, an Italian medieval village beautifully restored by the Ferragamo family, became the enchanting backdrop for Reshma and Brendan’s celebration. Its timeless charm and rich history captivated Reshma’s family long before the wedding. Over three unforgettable days, 180 guests from India, America, and many other countries gathered in the village’s charming homes, creating an atmosphere that was both intimate and grand, where old-world elegance met the warmth of close-knit family and friends.
Wedding Functions
Welcome Party and Mehndi
Guests arrived in style via shuttles from Florence for an Aperol Spritz-themed welcome party and henna ceremony, where everyone wore white, creating a striking contrast to Reshma’s vibrant pink lehenga and later, her stunning red Vivienne Westwood gown. The evening continued with a lively pizza party, accompanied by a French band that set the perfect tone for a night filled with music, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
Catholic Wedding and Sangeet
The second day began with a beautiful Catholic ceremony, where Reshma wore a stunning Galia Lahav gown, complemented by an embroidered veil featuring the lyrics from their song, ‘Forever’s gotta start somewhere’. Reshma gifted Brendan a Ferragamo watch engraved with the same phrase, while Brendan surprised her with a delicate tennis bracelet. As rain added a touch of drama to the day, it led to intimate moments, including the exchange of private vows and the heartfelt ‘something blue’, which was a small heart sewn from the dress Reshma wore the day they met. The evening then transformed into a vibrant sangeet, filled with energy and joy, as friends and family took the stage to perform dances, celebrating the couple’s love in the most spirited way.
Telugu Wedding
The festivities kicked off with a traditional South Indian Telugu ceremony, where Reshma was lovingly escorted down the aisle by her eight cousins, a symbol of family and togetherness. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a sit-down ‘ele oota’ meal, a culinary delight that brought everyone closer. The evening culminated in an emotional reception, where personalised thank-you notes for each guest added a deeply heartfelt touch, making it a meaningful and memorable finale to the celebration.
