Ruchita Poddar and Ryan Fletcher, Alila Fort Bishangarh, Rajasthan
This NRI couple's fusion destination wedding in Rajasthan was grand and vibrant, embracing local flavors and honoring their cultural roots.
At Ruchita Poddar and Ryan Fletcher’s enchanting wedding at Alila Fort Bishangarh in Rajasthani, cultures seamlessly blended and love transcended borders. This celebration, designed by WeddingSutra Favorite – Discovery Events was a heartfelt tribute to the beauty of diversity, filled with vibrant traditions and cherished moments.
Wedding Planning
Leading the creative vision was Discovery Events, led by the father-son duo, Yash and Shailesh Gandhi. The ecstatic couple shares, “Their meticulous design and attention to detail ensured that every element—from logistics to decor—was executed flawlessly, creating memories that will be cherished for a lifetime. Simply put, we did not have to worry about a thing as they understood our vision from the get-go. With them onboard, the entire experience was a breeze!”
Wedding Functions
Welcome
The guest welcome gave the guests a flavor of the fabled Rajasthani hospitality. Yash Gandhi shares, “The December wedding began with an exuberant cultural welcome featuring Kachhi Ghodi dancers, Ghoomar performances, and the rhythmic beats of nagadas. Guests were transported to a vibrant Rajasthani Mela with local touches like the parrot reader, live pottery, bangle-making, and balloon shooting—all set against a kaleidoscope of colors.”
Mehndi
Swathed in hues of fushia, the mehndi decor was a striking contrast against the lushness of the garden venue. Whimsical dream catchers swayed to the breeze while the colorful dancefloor with ethnic prints added a pop of contrasting colors. Upturned parasols and traditional can chairs integrated the cultural nuances of Rajasthan.
Sangeet
The Sangeet night was a spectacle of dance and culminated in a high-energy after-party. Glam performances from the bride and her squad left the groom in awe while the dancefloor played host to many impromptu dance moves!
Haldi
After the rigors of sangeet, the couple hosted a breezy, sunlit haldi where everyone helped the couple get their pre-wedding glow on. “The following morning, the fort’s courtyard came alive for a charming haldi ceremony. This was followed by a thematic Jaipuri-Moroccan lunch at the Terrace, offering breathtaking views of the Aravalli ranges”, shares Yash.
Wedding and Dinner
As the sun dipped below the horizon, Ryan’s baraat made its way from the ramparts of the fort to the historic baori stepwell. A majestic tree with its widely spread branches acting as a natural canopy, the wedding mandap exuded a sense of warmth and elegance with the fort’s architecture in the background. The celebrations concluded with an elegant, English-style sit-down farewell dinner. The couple’s beloved fur babies were also part of the festivities, adding to the warmth and charm of this two-day extravaganza.
