Sajinee and Raman, Sheraton Hua Hin Resort & Spa, Thailand
Sajinee and Raman’s beautiful beach wedding will surely give you #WeddingGoals
From color-coordinated theme décor to stylish attires, the #Raminee wedding at the Sheraton Hua Hin Resort & Spa in Thailand had all the fun and splendor that made for a very beautiful beachside wedding
How we Met
Born and brought up in Bangkok, Raman’s family and mine were neighbors but we’d never met until we bumped into each other at his cousin’s engagement party. He asked his family about me and got my number from them. I admit I was a tough nut to crack but he persisted and despite the repeated ‘no’s, knew I’d finally agree to go out on a date with him. I’m glad I did.
Wedding Venue
The Sheraton Hua Hin Resort and Spa was our top choice, as it is a beautiful venue and can accommodate all the hustle and bustle of an Indian wedding. It’s also perfect for a beach wedding.
Wedding Functions
Welcome dinner
We planned and executed the entire wedding ourselves with help from Raman’s dad and my mother. Each wedding function had a theme. We wanted to set the pace and have our guests anticipate the celebrations to come at the Welcome Dinner. So the theme was ‘Love at first sight’ with décor lit up with fairy lights and white flowers. Our guests were treated to a sumptuous dinner under the stars. I wore a gorgeous salmon pink and silver gown by Shantanu and Nikhil and accessorized with statement diamond earrings.
Mehndi
Our mehndi celebrations were an extended pool party to be honest. Everything had a light touch and we had colorful décor with quirky piques like caps, bangles and umbrellas. I wore a light, airy gray jumpsuit dress by Anamika Khanna and was super comfortable right through the rituals. I accessorized with a statement passa, maang tikka, earrings and a gorgeous choker.
Sangeet
What followed was an ‘All That Glitters’ cocktail and sangeet party. I wore a stunning deep red lehenga that was heavily embellished. I kept the jewellery minimal – just a pair of diamond earrings. There were special dance performances by close family and friends and a superb dhol performance which everyone loved!
Wedding
Our wedding was on the beach, in the daytime. We kept it traditional there was a relaxed vibe in the air. The entire décor, including the mandap was festooned in flowers. I chose fashion prodigy Sabyasachi Mukherjee to wear on my special day. He designed a masterpiece for me – a red lehenga embellished with zardozi and I accessorized with a heavy kundan necklace, nath and maang tikka. My makeup was natural and luminous – just a touch of foundation, smoky eyes, lipstick and a statement red bindi.
Reception
The theme for our reception was ‘Could It Be Magic?’ There was a romance to the décor, done entirely in red roses. It turned into a wonderful after party with our friends and family loving the cuisine and cocktails. I decided to glam up for the reception and wore Soltee by Sulakshana Monga – a lehenga with a net blouse and interesting gold embellishments. All I needed to accessorize was some delicate diamond jewellery and a big smile!
