Sakshi Bhandari and Rikin Mehta, Fairmont Udaipur Palace

This three-day palatial destination wedding in Udaipur was the perfect blend of grandeur, emotion, and unforgettable moments.

The wedding of Sakshi Bhandari, a fashion designer, and Rikin Mehta, who is in the business of gold jewelry, was a three-day event at Udaipur which was executed to perfection by WeddingSutra Favorite – Kkings Events. The team that designed the events to match the couple’s vision was WeddingSutra Favorite – Design HQ.

Wedding Planning
The couple shares, “The entire Kkings Events team was an absolute delight to work with. We got a detailed overview of all the vendors we could work with to enhance the wedding experience for all the guests. Monil and team have been like family, never letting the wedding stress get to us, and also let my sisters (Rishita and Yasha) be a part of their team with the constant follow-ups.”

The couple knew they wanted a royal setting — but with a twist. Their vision was clear: a grand venue that still felt fresh, intimate, and untouched. That’s what led them to Fairmont Udaipur — a newly launched property nestled amidst serene forested surroundings. With its regal architecture and quiet seclusion, it offered the perfect blend of heritage and novelty.

Kinjal Adodra from Design HQ shares, “Being one of the first few weddings hosted at Fairmont Udaipur gave us the rare opportunity to design without creative limits. Each corner was a blank canvas, which allowed us to craft moments and spaces that felt deeply personal and truly one-of-a-kind.” The couple adds, “Every space Design HQ designed felt like it belonged in a fairytale — personal, beautiful, and filled with emotion. Design HQ’s creativity made the moments even more magical, and their warmth made the process so joyful.”

Wedding Functions
Welcome Dinner
The vibe of the welcome dinner was light and celebratory, setting the tone for the festivities to follow. The Tribal Tango theme drew inspiration from Afro-Egyptian tribal aesthetics, blending raw textures with bold storytelling. Guests were greeted by masked dancers who accompanied the couple—dressed in ochre tones that echoed the theme—as they made a dramatic entrance to the sit-down poolside function.

Kinjal Adodra of Design HQ shares, “The setup featured dried and wild flowers, potato totems, sculptural elements, and custom cushions that reflected the couple’s story. Personal touches like postcards with poems added emotional depth to the experience.” The highlight of the evening was the stage—a striking Egyptian-inspired backdrop with intricate door detailing that lent the evening an unforgettable, immersive charm.

Carnival
Bursting with colour and character, C’est la Fête was a joyful reinterpretation of a European summer carnival, drawing inspiration from the whimsical world of Alexandre Benjamin Navet. His bold lines, colour blocking, and playful spirit shaped the design narrative—fresh, stylish, and full of personality. A vibrant palette set a sun-soaked tone, while a gingham-wrapped bar with European-style windows brought the charm of an Italian café to life. Mediterranean influences peeked through every corner, balancing lightheartedness with understated elegance.

Kinjal Adodra of Design HQ shares, “The décor was crafted to reflect the couple’s personalities and love for immersive experiences. From playful installations to handpicked details, the design evoked a sense of wonder.” Adding to the sentimentality, guests were presented with curated postcards—each carrying a heartfelt message and a reflection on the couple’s bond. This personal touch made the celebration deeply meaningful.

Myra
Divided into three parts—the ceremonial Myra, a colourful Rajasthani Mela, and a regal Sajjangoth—the celebration was brought to life with a refreshing palette of mint green and aqua blue, chosen to evoke serenity in the summer heat.

Kinjal Adodra of Design HQ shares, “We wanted to retain the emotional core of the Myra while creating an immersive setting that felt joyful, intimate, and engaging.” Hand-painted botanicals, soft floral styling, and playful touches like a ‘postman’ delivering postcards brought warmth and whimsy, while folk music and gourmet chaas added richness to the experience. Rooted in heritage yet elevated with modern elegance, this Myra was a soulful celebration crafted with intention.

Sangeet
The Sangeet night’s performances were choreographed to make the couple look like stars on the stage. “As a family, we love to shoot comical skits for weddings and celebrations and we ensured that this was a part of our Sangeet night,” Sakshi and Rikin say.
The groom wanted a drop-on-the-knees ending for his solo, which the choreographer beautifully blended in the performance.

Wedding
The wedding ceremony unfolded as a graceful blend of tradition and modernity, where Indian prints, soft pastels, and refined styling came together in quiet harmony. A delicate palette of sage green and pastel pink set a serene, contemporary tone—eschewing bold hues in favour of elegant subtlety.

Indian motifs appeared in thoughtful details—printed textiles, structured backdrops, and accents on tableware—paying homage to heritage without overwhelming the space. Modern floral styling, featuring seasonal blooms and muted foliage, added layered texture and freshness. Every element was purposefully designed, creating a setting that honoured cultural roots while embracing a new-age sensibility.
