What began as a middle school friendship grew into a relationship that stood the test of time, distance, and growing up. From being high school sweethearts to navigating life across the UK, New York, and home, Saniya and Pranjal always found their way back to each other. Planned over eight months by WeddingSutra Favorite – Baraati Inc., their celebrations reflected this journey through thoughtfully curated experiences, personalised details, and elegant design that felt true to the couple.
Wedding Planning
Drawing inspiration from Saniya and Pranjal’s journey, Baraati Inc. crafted each celebration with its own distinct identity while ensuring the festivities felt cohesive from start to finish. Every event balanced immersive experiences with meaningful details, allowing guests to feel connected to the couple’s story.
Reflecting on the celebrations, Shikha Chauhan and Shweta Acharya of Baraati Inc. share, “Our vision was to create experiences that felt deeply personal rather than simply beautiful. Every celebration was designed to evoke an emotion, whether through music, interactive details, thoughtful hospitality, or décor that reflected the couple’s journey. We wanted every guest to feel connected to their story.” They add, “The greatest compliment for us was seeing guests fully immersed in every celebration. We believe weddings are remembered for how they make people feel, and every decision, from décor to entertainment and guest experiences, was centred around creating those lasting memories.”
Wedding Functions
Sufi Night
Setting the tone for the celebrations, the sundowner mehendi drew inspiration from the warmth and intimacy of a contemporary Sufi mehfil. Planned by Baraati Inc., the space featured earthy textures, ambient lighting, satin handkerchiefs, tambourines, and thoughtful details that captured the mood of the evening. Saniya and Pranjal made a lively entry with tambourines in hand, surrounded by dancing guests, rhythmic beats, and waving handkerchiefs. The result was an evening that felt intimate, interactive, and full of energy.
Haldi
The haldi celebrated the spirit of a modern Punjabi gathering through bright colours, playful experiences, and nostalgic details. Handcrafted jhumkas, potlis, floral kulhads, moving moongfali and gajak carts, traditional pattals, and customised tappe booklets added warmth while encouraging guests to actively participate in the celebrations. Flower showers, lively music, and spirited interactions kept the energy high throughout the afternoon, creating a celebration that felt joyful, immersive, and rooted in the couple’s heritage.
Cocktail
The cocktail evening combined personalised details with a high-energy party atmosphere. Guests were welcomed with custom entry stamps featuring “S&P5∞” alongside the travel route “IGI → LHR → YYZ → JFK”, a subtle nod to the couple’s years spent across different cities and countries. As the evening progressed, the celebrations shifted effortlessly into an after-party with live performances, energetic dhol beats, custom glow sticks, sing-alongs, and nonstop dancing, ensuring the energy never dipped.
Wedding
The wedding blended timeless traditions with thoughtful touches throughout the day. The baraat arrived with energetic dhol beats, a classic white ghodi, and a vintage white car, while personalised details, including parasols, ghungroo sticks, petal cones, bespoke phera booklets, and a DIY mithai station, added charm to the guest experience.
As the sun began to set, the jaimala unfolded in the golden light, accompanied by live instrumental music that created a serene atmosphere. Floating bubbles during the Mangalyam ceremony and a live artist painting the jaimala and pheras added memorable touches to an already emotional celebration.
Reception
The reception struck the perfect balance between elegance and celebration. Ambient lighting and live music created the mood before Pranjal surprised Saniya with a heartfelt performance that became one of the evening’s most memorable moments. The celebrations then gave way to an energetic dance floor, with emotional speeches, the couple’s first dance, and lively celebrations carrying on well into the night.
