With over 5 spectacular functions, the destination wedding was hosted across luxurious venues in and around Chennai. The couple wanted a memorable beach wedding experience for all their overseas guests and chose the unique property of Taj Fisherman’s Cove Resort and Spa in Mahabalipuram for their wedding festivities. With its earthy feel, cozy villas, and pristine beachfront for their mandap, it was a perfect choice.

All of their functions were executed in vivid detail by the team of PetalsNDrapes. From color palettes to themes, activities, and ambiance, the team imbibed each of their functions with a distinct flavor and orchestrated exquisite designs and decor to make it Sanjana and Sachan’s dream wedding.
Wedding Functions
Mehndi
Inspired by the bride’s love of sunflowers, the boho beachside soiree was designed with fresh flowers, breezy drapes, relaxed seating, and unique personal touches. The guests were surprised with refreshing local elements such as a tender coconut stall, a bangle-and-bindi bar, henna artists, an autorickshaw photo-op painted with the couple’s favorite destinations and travel experiences, and more. Personalized cushions added a special touch while spectacular floral corners made for a visual treat. The melody of Indian instruments like sitar and veena added to the vibe of the occasion.
Sangeet
Switching things up a bit, the couple started their Sangeet on a high with a baraat where everyone from the groom and bride to families on both sides danced down the path to the tropical-themed party. The exotic decor saw tons of colorful flowers, flamingoes, peacocks, and more for an exuberant ambiance, while comfy sofas created a lounge-like vibe, complete with fun games like Giant Jenga and Darts. The beer pong setup stole the show with its personalized details about the bride and the groom, as did the 360-degree photobooth and personalized cocktails. A remarkable fire show kicked off the performances, followed by choreographed dances by friends and families.
Wedding
A divine intersection of traditional hues and breezy beach vibes, the wedding ceremony was a tranquil affair next to the ocean. Dressed in a striking red saree, the bride looked like a dream as she walked down an aisle of flowers to the floating white mandap made from acrylic pillars. The couple tied the knot to great applause from their loved ones, after which they celebrated with a grand reception gala to conclude the night.
Reception
Following up their festivities with yet another gala, the couple hosted a memorable second Reception at the iconic ITC Grand Chola in Chennai. The evening evoked the image of a secret garden, with vining foliage, dreamy pink and purple flowers, and even a French balcony to complete the romantic ambiance.
