Shimoli and Geet, Udaipur
Elegantly decorated in pale pink and white blooms, this couple’s wedding mandap was a picture of perfection against the serene backdrop of Udaipur.
Exuding serene vibes, urban planners Shimoli Patel and Geet Khurana’s fusion wedding encircled by the awe-inspiring architecture of Udaipur during the chilly month of November was nothing less than a dream come true. Planned and decorated by WeddingSutra Favorite – Desert Pearl Entertainment, this wedding left one awestruck with its beauty and pure, heartfelt moments.
How They Met
Shimoli and Geet first crossed paths in college while pursuing their post-graduation degree. However, the duo didn’t really interact for almost two years. But then fate stepped in and they struck up a conversation during the last semester forging an instant connection. Within 15 days lockdown hit and the couple was forced to part ways as Geet moved to Delhi while Shimoli made her way back to Ahmedabad. After almost 10 months of video calls and virtual dates, they finally met in December 2020, and a year later tied the knot!
Wedding Planning
With a grand destination wedding on the cards, the couple started scouting for an efficient planner and decorator to add to their wedding squad. Their endeavors were met with success as they got in touch with Desert Pearl Entertainment who impressed them with their creativity and proactiveness. The bride shares, “Desert Pearl Entertainment is hands-down the best planner that you can rope in for your big day. An unexpected thunderstorm hit the venue as the events were about to commence but the planning team took it all in their stride as they swiftly revised their plans and made sure the functions lived up to our vision. For two days straight they were on their feet, helping us out at every step of the way.”
Weddings Functions
Mehndi
For the Mehndi, the couple chose a subdued color palette which in turn highlighted the stunning architecture that surrounded them. Dotted by pastel-colored furnishings with paisley printed upholstery, the entire event exuded a vintage yet quintessentially desi charm. While Shimoli looked stunning in a sunny yellow outfit, Geet contrasted her in a simple teal kurta.
Sundowner
A bare wooden seating arrangement softened by white cushions gave the sundowner part a rustic bohemian look. Adorned with macramé covers, these furnishings wooed the guests to get cozy and comfy even as they enjoyed the revelries.
Cocktail Party
Brimming with glamor, the cocktail party consisted of an entryway adorned by fairy lights and LED signage that bathed the venue in a neon glow. A foliage backdrop added a dash of a lush green hue to the venue. A stunner in her black sequined gown, Shimoli stole hearts as she walked in on Geet’s arm who looked dapper in a velvet suit.
Haldi
Taking the traditional route, the Haldi ceremony witnessed the couple at their playful best as they sat on lotus-shaped urlis. Dominated by flowing garlands of marigold, the couple contrasted the all-yellow decor by wearing green outfits which resulted in some stunning pictures.
Wedding
With glorious mountains and fluffy clouds acting as the backdrop, the Wedding sure was a dreamy one! Keen on having their phere under the open sky, the planning and decor team conceptualized a simple yet elegant mandap swathed in pink and white blooms along with breezy white drapes that swayed in the wind. For their wedding outfits, the couple favored white hues with Shimoli donning a white wedding lehenga accentuated with emerald studded jewelry while Geet chose a white sherwani.
Reception
Opting for a minimalistic theme the newlyweds went with a rustic decor for their reception event. Small vintage lanterns with candles and wooden stands topped with white flowers gave the venue a romantic look. They chose a contemporary route for the reception as both Shimoli and Geet chose indo-western looks for their respective lehenga and bandhgala. Needless to say all eyes were on them that evening!
