Shreya Agarwal and Prateek Lata, The Leela Palace Udaipur

Shreya Agarwal, a floral designer and Prateek Lata, an entrepreneur’s destination wedding in Udaipur aced at every front with its intricate details. Hosted at The Leela Palace Udaipur which overlooks Lake Pichola, this union looked picturesque against the hotel’s stylish architecture. Planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – Shreem Events the wedding inspired awe with its grandeur and entertainment line-up.

How They Met
Shreya shares, “We met three years ago at a music concert and ever since then there’s been no looking back as we’ve been with each other through thick and thin.”

Wedding Venue
Sharing why she chose The Leela Palace Udaipur as her wedding venue, Shreya says, “The Leela Palace Udaipur is a beautiful space in the middle of a lake which made us feel that we had been transported to a different world. From the moment we step foot into it, there was a sense of serenity that washed over us. Plus, both of us were keen on an intimate wedding, so this oasis in the middle of a lake with its majestic architecture was absolutely perfect for us.”

Wedding Planning
Planner Devanshi Patel from Shreem Events shares, “The venue by itself was beautiful so we refrained from making too many changes and went with the flow of the aesthetics. Shreya was very particular about using a set of select in-house venues. She did not wish to inconvenience her guests by choosing every venue on the property and making them go to and fro in between events. She wanted to host the wedding at Rangmanch, a venue within The Leela Palace Udaipur without a mandap.

The room hampers for the wedding were also curated by us while the design was outsourced. It was a food-based hamper with gourmet delights like Thai rice crisps, raw juices, makhanas and locally sourced kachori along with mukhwas. Round-the-clock foot spas and a lounge were also made available for the guests as we wanted everyone to relax while they enjoyed the festivities.”

Bride Shreya shares, “Working with Shreem Events was so easy! The team was understanding, flexible and genuinely cared about our tastes. They ensured that everything went ahead smoothly and took care of our loved ones.”

Weddings Functions
Welcome Lunch
Devanshi shares, “The welcome lunch was where the guests were thoroughly indulged with sumptuous offerings. The couple was intent on making their loved ones feel as comfortable as possible, hence this first event let everyone relax after their journey.”

White Wedding
Devanshi shares, “The White Wedding followed a ‘backyard decor’ theme where everyone felt relaxed. The actual wedding ceremony was hosted in between two trees at the Guava Garden and was officiated by an aunt who’d flown in from Australia. The theme was ‘all things white’ with a minimalist white floral altar fused with a lot of foliage, wherein floating candles gave a surreal vibe to the intimate event. After the vows were done, the couple moved to the dancefloor for the first dance. Personalized coasters and candles decorated the venue while we hung about 1800 candles from a majestic tree which after sunset gave the entire place a magical vibe. A live band kept the guests entertained while quirky martinis kept everyone in high spirits. The couple also cut a three-tier cake that resembled the cake shown on their wedding card.”

Brunch
Devanshi shares, “The brunch was also a high-spirited one with a percussionist and a DJ playing groovy music. This event was also hosted at the Guava Garden which went through an overnight change of decor. We had to change up the decor in the same spot as the Welcome Lunch. Thankfully, it was quite seamless as the venue had a charm of its own which was highly versatile. We just accentuated the beauty of the space rather than imposing any heavy decor setups.
A foot spa ensured the guests stayed relaxed while they indulged in a delicious spread. However, the highlight of the event was Guru Randhawa who injected energy into everyone with his amazing performance.”

Wedding
Devanshi shares, “The wedding began with a rousing baraat with a vintage car and a brass band. The bride decided to eschew the usual mandap setting. Instead, we went for a beautiful tree prop at the Rangmanch and the water body beside it was decorated with candles and diyas. The bride made a stunning entry and we used almost 250 kilograms of rose petals for the floral shower during her entry. Bollywood singer Jasleen Royal serenaded her as she entered.”

For the post-wedding celebrations, the couple made a dashing entry as Devanshi shares, “After the wedding ceremony, the couple proceeded to the Guava Garden where the newlyweds made a stylish entry on the tunes of Jasleen Royal.”

Techno Party
The techno party was an extremely fun event where everyone had a blast surrounded by decor elements that took a cue from the sleek techno style. Devanshi shares, “Techno Parties in recent times have gathered speed and everyone is keen on hosting one. For this party, we had a sparkle artist who amped up the energy.”

Advice For Couples
Shreya shares, “Don’t forget to enjoy your wedding! Once you’re there, forget about all the little things – concentrate on the present moment.”
