A celebration steeped in love, inspired by nature, and imbued with soulful aesthetics, Somya and Shashank’s wedding at Aahana Resort unfolded like a visual poem across five meticulously curated events. Adding to its charm, the festivities were thoughtfully conceptualized and flawlessly executed by Somya’s sister—herself a wedding planner—together with her partner, Ayush, from WeddingSutra Favorite – Unik Experiences.
Wedding Planning
Ayush from Unik Experiences says, that the couple wanted the celebrations to be personalized and story-driven. Their insider understanding of the couple made this wedding a true labor of love. The team at Unik Experiences worked in tandem with the natural beauty of the mountains and forest, and each outdoor event was a homage to the forest.
Wedding Functions
Haldi
Breaking the yellow stereotype, this Haldi was soaked in vibrant gulabi (pink) tones and flower-powered joy. The space was brought alive with handcrafted pink jaali panels, rattan baskets filled with rose petals, pampas arrangements, boho teepees, and personalized signages. The setting was playful, warm, and beautifully unconventional.
Engagement
Hosted outdoors under the forest canopy, the engagement embraced a soft English garden aesthetic. The gazebo was transformed with cascading foliage, ivory drapes, candles, and soft lighting. A candle-lit aisle led to an intimate proposal moment — complete with fog, live music, and romantic energy.
Sangeet
As the evening progressed, guests entered an indoor forest-inspired sangeet drenched in green tones, chandeliers, and structured arches. The stage, layered with foliage and architectural elements, offered a magical backdrop for couple performances, family dances, and full-throttle celebrations.
Wedding
The wedding ceremony took place under a transparent canopy surrounded by nature. A palette of pastel green, blush pink, and antique brass brought understated grandeur to life. One of the most unforgettable moments was the bride’s majestic entry on a vintage horse-drawn carriage — a scene that felt like a royal painting in motion. From floral brass urlis, to a heartfelt tribute to the bride’s late Tauji, every moment was thoughtfully woven into the narrative.
Sufi Night
Capping off the celebrations was a soulful Sufi Night, hosted post-wedding. Draped in rich maroons, gold, and velvet, the evening recreated the aura of an old-world mehfil. Chandeliers, jharokha-style elements, low seating, and poetic Urdu signage set the mood. A live Sufi performance stirred hearts and created a perfect, mellow ending to the high-energy festivities.
