A heady mix of fun-filled celebrations, whimsical decor and familial love, Tanvi Gala and Navkar Singhvi’s love story which started with a simple DM on social media, found its happily ever after at the scenic Taj Aravali Resort & Spa, Udaipur. Planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – Ties n Knots Weddings and Events, the union was a dream come true for the couple!
Wedding Venue
The wedding was hosted at the plush Taj Aravali Resort & Spa in Udaipur where the couple and their loved ones enjoyed a stunning view of the Aravali Hills. Spread over 27 acres of land with views of the rugged hills and 176 luxurious rooms – the property was perfect to host the couple’s lavish destination wedding. Not too far away from local tourist gems, this venue also allowed guests to explore the city of Udaipur while they attended the festivities.
Wedding Planning
Bride Tanvi shares, “Ours is a Gujarati and Marwadi love story. We wanted to find a middle path between both our cultures and decided to host an intimate yet lavish wedding. It was essential for us that the guests experience a wholesome celebration where they could unwind easily. We also fused Udaipur traditions with new-age Mumbai vibes.”
Wedding Functions
Lakeside Sunset Mehendi
The couple celebrated the mehndi ceremony by the Fateh Sagar Lake where they were greeted by endlessly blue skies and a serene landscape. The bride donned a colorful patchwork lehenga for her mehndi paired with multicolored gemstone-encrusted jewellery. A seating area with a bright floral arch and white furnishings adorned the sunset mehndi event.
Holi
Bride Tanvi shares, “The holi was hosted at Mayur Bagh in Taj Aravali Resort & Spa. I strictly wanted to play dry Holi with organic colors, and no water whatsoever, but nature had its plans with a rainstorm! Despite the impact on the decor, our amazing team was extremely proactive and we ended up having what my friends deemed to be one of the best wedding events they have ever attended!”
Sangeet
In contrast to the rugged scenery around them, the couple chose to go for a ‘modern Indian’ theme for the sangeet. Sleek decor, an indoor stage and suspended foliage were all a part of the decor. The couple and their loved ones performed stellar dance performances and later grooved on the dancefloor.
Wedding and Reception
Tanvi shares, “The dress code for the wedding was ‘sunset colors’. Hosted by the man-made waterfall, the wedding mandap features lush foliage, white blooms and crystals. I wore a sea green custom-made lehenga for my wedding and a red ensemble for the reception. Navkar and I did our first dance at the reception!”
