Tanya and Kushal, Udaipur
This wedding symbolized a fairytale theme in unique ways as Tanya and Kushal tied the knot in a regal setting.
Cupid struck Tanya and Kushal on a New Year’s eve, and little did they know that it would lead them to new beginnings together. The couple wed in Udaipur, and all the lovely moments were captured by WeddingSutra Favorite Priyam Parikh Pictures. With the royal arches of Jagmandir Island Palace, DJ AJ on the console and the rugged Taj Aravali Resort and Spa providing breathtaking backdrops, this wedding was a visual treat for all their guests and loved ones.
How They Met
Tanya shares, “We met on New Year’s Eve through a common friend and that’s all that we needed. Something just instantly felt right and since then, we haven’t looked back.”
Wedding Venue
The couple chose to plan their wedding based on the theme of their love story which was no less than a fairytale. And what better place to celebrate their dreamy affair than Udaipur? They zeroed in on palatial Jagmandir Island Palace for their big day. For all the other fun-filled events, they chose the Taj Aravali Resort and Spa that’s nestled in the foothills of Aravali and boasts of dramatic views of the Rajasthani landscape.
Wedding Planning
Tanya shares, “After a fair share of ups and downs in the planning process, everything finally fell into place. We had the wedding in a way that resonated with us and was a symbol of our love and strength as a couple. The first gift that I gave Kushal on our roka had ‘Once Upon a Time’ inscribed on it which was symbolic of our challenging journey over the years. We continued this theme in our wedding with the pages of a book depicting our story with words symbolic of ‘Once Upon a Time’ to his wedding ring that had ‘Happily Ever After’ inscribed on it.”
“Tadka Events was meticulous in planning every last detail. Naman Jain (The Event Collective) did a brilliant job managing the bar. The Flaming Trio were amazing bartenders. They personalized our drinks with edible photographs, glitter and even served us molecular drinks. Hina, from Amaahyaaj, was brilliant at the decor and made our vision a reality. Mansheel Gujaral, Salim-Sulaiman, Sukhbir, DJ AJ, and DJ Paresh played rocking tunes that kept us dancing till the wee hours of the morning. Priyam Parikh Pictures captured all our moments and went the extra mile to get those perfect shots.”
Weddings Functions
Mehndi
The indoor bridal mehndi was a colorful affair with a floral backdrop that had #24KTLOVE written on it. Going in sync with the decor was the bride’s floral jewellery as she got henna patterns done on her hands. Tanya’s lehenga was of a subtle yellow hue, and had puffed sleeves and delicate sequins that reflected the soft golden lights. Kushal chose a mustard yellow kurta with an ornate brooch for the occasion and set the stage on fire with his performance.
For the bigger outdoor mehndi party, the couple picked white for the color palette, and even incorporated the color in their ensembles. As they posed against the rugged beauty of the Aravali hills, Tanya’s white lehenga with multicolor embroidery, and Kushal’s contemporary kurta contrasted with the sunlit sky, creating a picture-perfect moment. Being an outdoor affair, the couple’s guests enjoyed coolers to keep the heat at bay and entertained themselves at the carnival-like game stalls.
Sangeet
The sangeet was a musical affair with Bollywood duo Salim-Sulaiman rocking the stage with their foot-tapping music. The dance floor was filled to the brim as the couple and guests danced to their heart’s content under colorful flashing lights. For this glamorous night, Tanya chose a bright red sequined gown that she accessorized with diamond jewellery, and Kushal opted for a black sherwani with sequins
For the after-party, the theme was ‘All That Glows,’ for which the bride and groom wore matching lilac ensembles. Both of them kept it fairly simple and fresh with an asymmetrical dress for Tanya, and a blazer for Kushal. Adding a pop of color to their outfits were neon glasses. With DJ AJ playing groovy dance numbers, the party had a disco-tech vibe to it with an animated backdrop and flashing lights.
Wedding
With the venue of the wedding being the grand Jagmandir Island Palace, Tanya and Kushal went for outfits inspired by Indian royalty. Kushal picked a white and gold sherwani that he paired with a layered emerald necklace. He made a stunning entrance in a vintage car, and his boisterous baraat buddies flanked him all the way.
Tanya complemented her groom with a white and gold sequin lehenga accessorized with a kundan and emerald encrusted maang tikka and necklace. Her scarlet pout added a pop of color to the entire look as she made her way to the mandap. She says, “As I walked down the aisle, Kushal walked halfway towards me to take my hand which symbolized our promise of always meeting each other halfway. The song that played when I walked was something that he himself had sung, played and recorded for me. We wrote our own vows promising each other things we actually mean. Our hashtag was also decided by us and I wrote every single note that went to our guests personally.”
The after-party had a ‘Bling Night’ theme, and was filled with musical hits performed by Bollywood’s favorites Sukhbir and DJ Paresh.
