Taral Jadhav and Pranav Shetty, Welcomhotel by ITC Hotels, The Savoy, Mussoorie
From a blush-hued Haldi to a vintage floral phera ceremony, this wedding designer bride left no stone unturned at her union!
For wedding designer Taral Jadhav, founder of WeddingSutra Favorite – Do It Up, weddings have long been a world of layered emotions, thoughtful aesthetics, and deeply personal storytelling. But when it came to her own celebration with Pranav Shetty, the journey took on new meaning. Rooted in love, heritage, and an artistic eye that has shaped countless celebrations, their wedding in the hills was an intimate ode to who they were, who they had become together, and the life they were ready to build as one.

Wedding Planning
“As someone who has curated weddings for years, I often wondered what mine would feel like,” shares Taral. “It had to reflect our journey, our love, and our roots—Maharashtrian, Shetty, and the city where it all came together.” The couple envisioned an intimate summer wedding in the hills, blending tradition with personal meaning, from a mehndi at her family home to a pre-wedding shoot in Pranav’s cultural attire, and thoughtfully reimagined rituals shaped with their families and priest. In a symbolic gesture, they took on each other’s surnames, honouring equality at the core of their bond.
Designing her own wedding as a professional came with its own challenges. “I didn’t want novelty for its own sake,” she reflects. “I wanted authenticity and for the décor to be a true extension of Do It Up.” The theme blooming gardens unfolded across events in varying palettes and moods, shaped through their signature process of moodboarding, floral trials, and spatial storytelling.
With her team by her side, Taral’s vision came to life seamlessly. Vow Weavers brought heartfelt precision to planning, The Photo Lab captured fleeting magic, and Planbox Weddings & Events ensured every detail was executed with polish. “This wedding will always live in the hills, in our hearts, and now, beautifully etched in memory,” she says.

Mehndi
The wedding journey began with a sentimental celebration at Taral’s home in Mumbai. “It was my mother’s dream to see me as a traditional Maharashtrian bride,” she shares. Wearing her mother’s radiant pink saree and heirloom nath, Taral hosted a vibrant celebration in hues of pink and orange, with homemade Maharashtrian delicacies that evoked her childhood. “It was emotional, the last day before I’d step into a new home, but also the most beautiful beginning.”

Haldi
Set in a sun-drenched glasshouse—the very venue that first stole her heart—the haldi was a modern reimagination of a classic ritual. Soft blush pinks and butter yellows replaced the traditional marigold palette, and Taral chose a powder blue saree as a nod to contemporary elegance. “With delicate florals suspended from above and a garden blooming around us, it felt like a gentle dream.”

Sangeet
That evening, the mood shifted dramatically with a glamorous sangeet under the stars. The outdoor lawn transformed into a dramatic, red forest-inspired celebration featuring over 2,000 candles, mirror-top tables, and lush florals. “It was our big Bollywood night—full of wild dancing, laughter, and the kind of joy you bottle up forever,” Taral says.

Wedding
The next morning brought with it the most serene celebration of all. “Our wedding was designed like a vintage floral dream, a pastel wonderland where each element told a story,” Taral recalls. With a delicate dome mandap, a panoramic varmala stage, and photo vignettes from the couple’s childhoods and journey together, the decor was an artistic extension of their love story. “It was classic Do It Up, but with a timeless lens.” The night closed with emotional speeches and heartfelt toasts, making every guest feel not just included but essential. “It wasn’t about grandeur. It was about love, intention, and belonging,” Taral reflects. “And in every sense, it was ours.”
