Tarisha Tholia and Prerit Kothari, Jaigarh Fort, Jaipur

History met romance as the iconic Jal Mahal in Jaipur hosted its first-ever wedding celebration!

When your family owns some of Jaipur’s heritage landmarks, your wedding naturally becomes a celebration of legacy. For fashion designer Tarisha Tholia and Prerit Kothari, whose family owns Kothari Jewels along with the historic Jal Mahal and Kothari Garh, their wedding was an intimate reflection of home, heritage and personal style. While Tarisha designed every ensemble worn by the couple herself, WeddingSutra Favorite – Ever After Weddings orchestrated the celebrations across the family’s historic properties with remarkable precision, transforming each venue while preserving its timeless character. Capturing every heartfelt moment and the grandeur of the celebrations with equal finesse was WeddingSutra Favorite – Raabta Studios, whose evocative imagery beautifully documented the couple’s journey.

Wedding Planning
With celebrations unfolding across multiple heritage venues, the planning called for thoughtful logistics rather than elaborate concepts. The couple envisioned a wedding deeply connected to their family’s properties, with Tarisha taking complete creative charge of the wardrobe for both herself and Prerit. Their warm, trusting approach gave Ever After Weddings the freedom to execute every detail seamlessly. Sharing their experience, Yugandhara Tayade from Ever After Weddings says, “There was never a rigid brief. Tarisha and Prerit wanted their wedding to feel authentic to who they are and where they come from. They trusted our vision completely, which allowed us to focus on creating smooth guest experiences while respecting the beauty and significance of every venue. Their humility made the entire journey incredibly rewarding.”

A unique pre-wedding photoshoot was also one of the hallmarks of the celebrations. As Shrey Bhagat from Raabta Studios shares, “The most memorable part of this wedding wasn’t just its spectacular location; it was the complete creative trust we received from the couple. The bride understood the language of art, and that freedom led us to discover extraordinary frames, from the Jaipur JEA band to the majestic, almost mythical tree, giving an ‘Avatar’ movie-inspired vibe that became one of the defining portraits of the celebration. Every image became a balance of warmth, culture, and contemporary storytelling.”

Mehendi
The Mehendi unfolded at the historic Jal Mahal, making history in more ways than one. The couple became the first to host a private wedding celebration at the iconic landmark, a destination otherwise known as one of Jaipur’s most treasured heritage attractions. The picturesque setting required very little embellishment, with thoughtfully curated décor enhancing rather than competing with the architectural grandeur. The result was an intimate afternoon where vibrant festivities blended effortlessly with centuries-old heritage.

Wedding
The wedding was the most ambitious chapter of the celebrations, spanning six distinct venues within the fort complex. Just as preparations were underway, unexpected rain transformed the planning into a race against time. Every venue had to be covered while ensuring the historic site remained accessible to the public until evening, requiring décor installations to be meticulously timed and executed.

Yugandhara Tayade shares, “The rain completely changed our execution plan. Since the fort remained open to visitors until 5 pm, every installation had to be carefully scheduled and adapted in real time. It was one of those moments where teamwork made all the difference.”
The cool weather that followed inspired a playful addition to the festivities. Remote-controlled cars carrying pre-mixed beverages glided through the venue, delighting guests while adding an unexpected interactive element to the celebrations. Against the dramatic backdrop of the fort, the décor embraced understated elegance, allowing the grandeur of the heritage setting to take centre stage.

Sangeet
Hosted at Kothari Garh, where the family resides, the Sangeet transformed the historic palace into an immersive visual experience. The palace walls came alive with projection mapping, while illuminated projections along the pathways guided guests through the property, creating an enchanting arrival experience. The evening unfolded in the amphitheatre, where performances took centre stage before the celebrations flowed into the lawns for the after-party. An island bar became the social hub of the night, while carefully planned lighting ensured guests could comfortably navigate the expansive estate without disrupting the projection displays.

Reflecting on the evening, Yugandhara Tayade says, “The projections were the highlight of the Sangeet, but they also made lighting incredibly complex. Since the property doesn’t have permanent event lighting, every focus light had to be positioned with precision so guests could move comfortably while preserving the visual impact. Watching it all come together was immensely satisfying.”
