How They Met
Kishan shares, “We first met over 15 years ago when we were in our mid-teens at a wedding. I’d like to say it was love at first sight. But we stayed friends for the first 5 years of knowing each other, she also lived over 3 hours away from me. But we always kept in touch. Fast forward 5 years from our first meeting we again met at another mutual friend’s wedding. The week after the wedding I went over to her university to meet up with her. Ever since then, there has been no looking back!”

Wedding Planning
Impressed by their photography team’s skills and patience, the happy bride shares, “Jodi Clickers went way beyond our expectations, Kishan and I felt like we were meeting old friends. We had such a great time through the week even though we were so tired. Neither of us has ever been comfortable in front of the camera but Jodi Clickers honestly kept us laughing every minute and they were just so patient. And let us not forget how incredible these photos look. They captured the essence of us – 16 years of friendship and 10 years of love, all wrapped up in the perfect picture’. We’ll be cherishing these for years to come!”

Explaining why they chose Seville, Twisha and Kishan share, “We fell in love with Seville for its stunning architecture, the history and beauty in this small Spanish city & this is how we chose all 3 of our perfect venues- from a riverside terrace, to a Neo-Nazari private house, to our traditional Spanish Hacienda, all 3 of our events had a different feel about them so our guests could enjoy every side of this historic city.”

Wedding Functions
Pithi
The couple shares, “We originally envisaged having a ‘Pithi in the park’ but the rain had other plans for us so our first event was held in our gorgeous hotel’s pool area. A fun and memorable first event with a joint Pithi with our friends and family – it was the perfect start to our celebrations!”

Mehndi
“Our second event was our Mehendi night which doubled as our welcome party- held at a venue right above the Guadalquivir River making a picturesque backdrop. We wanted our Mehendi night to be a fun and casual night with games hosted by our niece and the event ended with the best party tunes by our DJ Jas. Overall, the vibe was vibrant and scenic”, the couple recollects.

Wedding
“For our wedding day, we took inspiration from our surroundings to coordinate outfits for ourselves and our family. Our wedding was hosted at a historic private house, built at the time of the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition and we got married outside in the garden space. The sage greens, pinks and ivory were the exact vision we wanted against the stunning fountain behind us during the ceremony. This was just made a million times better with the organic floral mandap created for us. It was perfectly in tandem with our venue’s architecture”, share Twisha and Kishan.

Blessing of the Vows
Twisha shares, “We got legally married in an intimate London Town Hall Registry back in June 2023 but we wanted the chance to say our vows to one another in front of our loved ones. The terracotta walls, the olive groves as you drive through the front gate and the secret courtyard where we ended up having our first look – everything looked straight out of a fairytale. For the ceremony we had asked Kishan’s sister to officiate for us, making this ceremony that extra bit special with my nieces as the flower girls and my nephews as ring bearers.”

Reception
An outdoor reception was on the cards with a majestic sunset lighting up the sky. The couple shares, “ For our Reception, we’d always dreamt of having it outdoors, as the sun sets with stunning fairy lights to set the scene and that is exactly what we got! Starting with our first dance to an acoustic cover of Bob Marley’s ‘Is This Love’, we then invited all the other couples to join in. We knew we didn’t want the evening to be in a traditional reception format so we opted for food stations instead of a seated dinner. For entertainment, we had the most incredible live Spanish band but we had to, of course, have a talented flamenco dancer who kept us entertained for the evening, making sure everybody was on the dance floor. To keep in theme with all of the Spanish must-haves, we also had a mechanical bull video booth which was such a highlight for our guests, both younger and older!”

Advice For Couples
“Get a good wedding planner and make sure your wedding planning is about you as the couple. One can fall into the trap of trying to please everyone in the family for this big day but don’t lose sight of what this is really about and make sure the decisions you make are for yourselves as a couple. Try to be realistic when it comes to a destination wedding, you really cannot control everything as we quickly learnt and it’s best to be flexible with what you can and cannot achieve with an Indian wedding abroad. Setting these expectations early will help with reducing stress levels during the planning”, shared Twisha and Kishan.
