Their story began when Deep messaged Zahra after recognising a photograph she had posted from Fiji. What started as a casual online conversation quickly turned into something more meaningful, leading Deep to fly to London for their first date. A long-distance relationship followed, taking them across cities and continents before eventually bringing them together in Mumbai. Deep’s proposal was equally memorable. What Zahra believed was a casual lunch at the Shangri-La rooftop in Dubai turned into a life-changing moment when he proposed.

Wedding Venue
Nestled in the heart of Yas Island, Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island served as the perfect setting for Deep and Zahra’s multi-day celebration. With its contemporary design, expansive event spaces, and waterfront location, the hotel seamlessly accommodated the scale and diversity of the festivities. From intimate daytime gatherings at Cafe Del Mar and sunset celebrations on The Terrace to grand ballroom soirées and lawn-side ceremonies overlooking Yas Bay, the venue provided a versatile backdrop for every chapter of the wedding. Its seamless blend of luxury, hospitality, and destination appeal made it an ideal choice for a celebration that brought together guests from across the world.

Wedding Functions
Welcome Lunch
The celebrations began with Aperol Affair, a welcome lunch inspired by Zahra’s university years in Milan. The décor drew from classic Italian summer aesthetics with a palette of orange, white, and green, complemented by citrus accents, oversized umbrellas, and relaxed tablescapes. The atmosphere was warm and easygoing, encouraging guests to settle into the celebrations over an indulgent spread of Italian cuisine.

Sundowner and Afterparty
As the sun set over Yas Island, guests gathered on The Terrace for Sunset in Shanghai, the couple’s ring ceremony inspired by Deep’s years in China. The setting combined elegant styling with subtle cultural references, creating a sophisticated backdrop for the occasion. The celebrations then moved indoors for Lost in Chinatown, an immersive afterparty at the Yas Grand Ballroom. Shades of red dominated the space, complemented by themed accessories including silk fans, scarves, and pocket squares. A lively dragon dance, striking ice sculptures, and interactive food stations brought the theme to life. The Indo-Chinese and Pan-Asian menu was a highlight, while DIY noodle and fried rice counters kept the energy high well into the night.

Mehndi and Haldi
Hosted at Cafe Del Mar, Bedouin Souk drew inspiration from the colours and character of a traditional Middle Eastern marketplace. Earthy tones, textured décor, handcrafted elements, and cultural performances transformed the venue into an inviting and vibrant setting. Guests enjoyed henna applications, themed cocktails, and Middle Eastern delicacies throughout the afternoon. Curated accessory kits were gifted to the women, while the dress code of Indian wear in earthy shades blended seamlessly with the overall aesthetic.

Sufi Night and Sangeet
Shab-e-Sama brought together the energy of a Sangeet with the mood of a Sufi-inspired evening. The night began with dance performances before moving into a powerful live set by Bismil and an Afro-Bolly DJ experience that kept guests on their feet. The décor featured arches, mashals, candlelight, and deep blue lighting that created an intimate and atmospheric setting. A Mughal-inspired menu complemented the evening, while custom-designed perfumes for men and women served as thoughtful keepsakes that reflected Zahra’s passion for fragrance.

Wedding
The wedding day began with the traditional Safa Bandhi followed by a spirited Baraat across the Yas Bay Lawn. Titled ‘The Promise Path’, the ceremony was designed as a symbolic journey leading to the Pheras. Soft whites, peaches, and blush pinks defined the décor, creating an elegant and timeless setting. Floral arrangements and refined details enhanced the overall aesthetic without overwhelming it. One of the most memorable moments was a live performance during Zahra’s entrance and the pheras, which brought an added sense of emotion to the ceremony. A refined high tea on the Yas Lawn followed the celebrations.

Reception
The wedding celebrations concluded with La Nuit Des Rêves, a masquerade-themed reception at the Yas Grand Ballroom. Inspired by themes of mystery and destiny, the evening embraced a dramatic palette of black and red.

The ballroom featured striking lighting, elegant styling, and subtle masquerade details that elevated the atmosphere. Guests arrived in gowns and tuxedos, setting the tone for a glamorous evening. A live performance brought high energy to the celebrations, followed by the couple’s first dance, a father-daughter dance, and heartfelt speeches. Paired with a continental menu, the reception was a fitting finale to four memorable days of celebrations.
