Aahuti and Prasham, Radisson Blu Resort Karjat
Inspired by their love for globe-trotting and filled with playful moments, this couple’s wedding was a vibrant celebration of experiences, energy and effortless joy.
Thoughtfully designed and full of personality, Aahuti and Prasham’s wedding brought together intimate moments and high-energy celebrations in equal measure. Planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – To The Aisle and captured by WeddingSutra Favorite – WhatKnot, each event felt distinct yet seamlessly connected. From a relaxed lakeside celebration to a deeply immersive ceremony, the wedding reflected who they are as a couple with clarity and ease.

How They Met
Aahuti shares, “We met on 25th December 2021 at a pre-wedding cocktail party. My childhood friend was marrying his childhood friend, and that night, she was determined to play cupid. She asked me to look around and point out the guy I was most drawn to. The moment Prasham walked in, my eyes instantly fell on him and the rest, as they say, is history. She introduced us, and we instantly clicked. Our conversation flowed so naturally that I ended up chatting with him until sunrise, something I had never done before. That night may have ended in a few hours, but our story was only beginning.”
Wedding Planning
“We didn’t want a cookie-cutter wedding; we wanted something that felt like us.” With this approach, To The Aisle designed each celebration to reflect the couple’s shared love for travel, food and meaningful experiences. The flow of events felt natural and unforced, with moments like a spontaneous kayaking race between Team Bride and Team Groom turning into lasting memories.
Speaking about their photography team, the bride shares, “We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better photography team. The WhatKnot team was super chill, friendly and incredibly patient. From day one, you made us feel comfortable and understood our vibe perfectly. The photos are not just visually stunning, they capture the emotions, the in-between moments and everything that made our wedding what it was. Looking at them feels like reliving it all over again.”

Wedding Functions
Mehndi
The mehndi was hosted at home, exactly as Aahuti had envisioned, surrounded by familiarity and warmth. “I knew I wanted my Mehendi ceremony to be at home,” she shares. The celebration drew on Punjabi culture, with a live folk artist performing traditional music that quickly turned into a lively sing-along. Her mehndi design told a personal story, mapping their travels together from Varanasi to Bali, Turkey to the UK. The food was equally rooted, with a thoughtfully curated vegetarian spread of Kutchi snacks and a traditional meal. The entire setting felt intimate, cultural and deeply personal.

White Wedding
Set by the lake at a Greek-style villa near Karjat, the white wedding was relaxed and intimate. The Mediterranean aesthetic, paired with natural surroundings, created a setting that felt open and easy. “It was lighthearted and fun, with a kayaking race between Team Bride and Team Groom, games and a relaxed after-party,” the bride shares. The setting reflected their shared love for travel and the outdoors, making it a fitting start to the celebrations.

Spanish Brunch & Haldi
This celebration brought in a bold and vibrant energy. A Spanish-inspired vegetarian brunch set the tone, followed by a haldi filled with bright yellow hues, marigolds and music. “It was colourful, chaotic and completely joyful, just the way we imagined it,” Aahuti shares. The mix of playful decor and free-flowing energy made it one of the most spirited events.

Sangeet and After Party
The sangeet was an evening of performances, with families taking centre stage in a celebration that blended Bollywood energy with theatrical flair. The atmosphere was lively, filled with music, lights and constant cheering. “We ended the night with an after party, dancing into the early hours,” the bride shares. The couple also surprised their guests with a pre-wedding Bollywood video featuring 90s music, which quickly became a highlight of the evening.

Mandwa
The Mandwa ceremony was kept simple and meaningful, offering a quiet pause amid the celebrations. “It was a moment of calm with beautiful rituals,” Aahuti reflects, embracing the significance of tradition in its most understated form.
Wedding
The wedding ceremony was designed to feel intentional and grounding. A custom mandap with earthy tones and subtle elements like sage incorporated into the decor. “We even had sound bath artists to set the tone. It felt less like a function and more like a moment of stillness, love and gratitude,” the bride shares.

After Party
To close the celebrations, the couple hosted a 90s-themed after party at a private gaming arena. With arcade games, trampolines, neon accents and themed cocktails, the setting was playful and nostalgic. “Everyone came dressed in retro outfits, and it felt like stepping into our childhoods,” Aahuti shares. The night ended on a fun and memorable note, bringing the celebrations full circle.

Advice For Couples
The couple shares a few pointers: “Make it personal. Don’t be afraid to break the rules and include elements that truly reflect you as a couple.
Prioritise what matters to you. It is easy to get caught up in trends, so focus on what feels important.
Delegate and let go. Trust your team and the people around you.
Balance the chaos with calm. Take a moment to pause when things feel overwhelming.
And most importantly, enjoy the little moments. Those often become the memories you hold on to the most.”
