Aanchal and Rahul’s nuptials with its vintage decor and lively celebrations made the most of the breathtaking Rajasthani architecture. With each event conceptualized around a jewel-toned color palette, this wedding raised the bar high when it came to fusing creativity and royalty together. Wedding Venue
Hosted at the magnificent JW Marriott Jaipur Resort & Spa this venue made the perfect fit for the couple whose wedding featured a long guest list of people who were flying in from all over the globe. With its traditional architecture, state of the art amenities and vast spaces, this property made the cut for its sheer versatility and warm hospitality. Aanchal shares, “Rahul is born and brought up in Surat, Gujarat, and my parents are from Punjab, so considering Rajasthan is the only state that borders these two, Jaipur was the obvious choice for us making it a convenient option for both sides.
We were meant to find each other and get married in India and I couldn’t have asked for a better location. The entire experience was akin to a fairytale!”
Wedding Planning

Weddings Functions
Mehndi
Following an ‘Emerald’ theme, Aanchal’s mehndi was a fun-filled affair where the bride had plenty of fun dancing to her favorite tracks surrounded by her girl squad. Held under a sheer green canopy that played peek-a-boo with the desert sun, everyone was showered with marigold petals as they reveled in the music. For her own bridal mehndi, Aanchal donned a contemporary peach salwar suit, while for her mehndi celebration, she chose an off-white mirror work lehenga. Her groom complemented her in a floral off-white bandhgala.
Cocktail and Sangeet
Taking up the glamour stakes several notches higher, the cocktail was held at an indoor venue and had a ‘Ruby’ theme. Keeping the decor in mind, the guests were also requested to turn up in dazzling attires that allied with the red theme. An evening filled with dance, friendly shenanigans and emotional moments ensued against a backdrop of elegant black archways and delicate crystal chandeliers.
Standing out in a beige full-sleeved gown, Aanchal was the showstopper of the evening and couldn’t stop smiling as she joined her soon-to-be husband, who wore a sleek velvet bandhgala on the dancefloor.
Haldi
With a ‘Sapphire’ theme that reflected in the dress code of the guests, the Haldi ceremony went easy on the decor with marigold garlands and white canopies peppered with orange. Held under the bright blue sky dotted with wispy clouds, this ceremony had its moments of laughter and tears as everyone happily smeared the bride with turmeric.
Dressed in a bright yellow salwar kameez the bride also paid ode to the rich Rajasthani culture with her traditional maang tikka. Rahul, however, kept it light and simple in an off-white kurta and churidar.
Wedding and Reception
Held at the exquisite Vikram Aditya Ballroom located in JW Marriott Jaipur Resort & Spa, the couple’s wedding decor followed a ‘Diamond’ theme and was replete with delicate blooms and vintage chandeliers. The highlight, however, was the mandap which took everyone’s breath away with its artfully arranged foliage and crystals that reflected every light in the room. Adding her vocal prowess to this heady mix was Nirali Karthik who made the wedding a magical event.
A stunner in her white and gold lehenga and kundan jewelry, Aanchal was surrounded by her bridesmaids who also wore similar shades of white and gold. Rahul took a cue from his bride and donned an intricately embroidered white sherwani. Adding a final flourish to the night was a vintage chariot that the newlyweds alighted upon after the bidaai to signify the beginning of a new journey.
For their glitzy reception in Surat, the couple followed the jewel theme trend and chose ‘Gold’ as the theme for the evening.
Advice For Couples
When quizzed about her suggestions to other couples, here’s what Aanchal advised:
1. Hiring a good photographer is a must! Oragraphy did a brilliant job for us and we couldn’t be happier.
2. Make sure you do a recce with your wedding planner to understand the venue and to chart out decor ideas.
3. A quick trial in advance with the makeup artist ensures no last-minute disappointments.
4. Shop ahead of time and plan your outfits so that everything looks seamless on the big day.
5. Brides get your personal mehndi done a day in advance so that you can enjoy yourself with your friends during the actual celebrations.
6. Don’t forget to hydrate throughout the wedding and make time to eat.
7. Indulge in a spa day with your family before the wedding starts so that you are adequately pampered before the hectic schedule starts.
8. Don’t forget to show your partner how special he/she is during this stressful time. Shower them with gifts and love notes that’ll brighten their day.
9. Accept and remember that some details may be off but don’t let it take a toll on you. If you don’t enjoy your wedding, then no one else will.
