How they met
Fortunately for Aarushi and Akshit who both harbored an aversion to matrimonial platforms, it was their mothers who played cupid. When they were at the precipice of giving up the idea of finding their perfect soulmate, serendipitously they happened upon each other and realized they had found a connection worth exploring. A few weeks of video calls turned into months, and when they finally met after six months, it just took them a couple of meetings to know that they had found their forever love!
Wedding Planning
With just 30 days to plan the wedding amidst COVID restrictions, the couple entrusted the team of Riwaaz-e-Rishte to pull off an intimate and safe yet spectacular wedding at The Oberoi, Gurgaon. Despite the short time frame, the team planned every little detail to perfection to make the couple’s vision of their wedding come true.
The invites for the wedding were graciously designed by the bride’s best friend from college, while their special moments were immortalized by the team of Omega Productions.
Wedding Functions
Engagement
The festivities kicked off with a lush outdoor ring ceremony decorated with delicate pastel décor. Flowers, drapes and other elements in soft hues of pink and white set a romantic atmosphere, and perfectly complemented the bride’s classic blush ensemble. The stage was set with a floral backdrop and a plush pink velvet sofa, where the couple exchanged rings in front of their loved ones.
Sangeet
The Sangeet or Cocktail function was glamour galore, designed with stunning décor in rich shades of violet and gold. The stage was set up in a rich violet palette as well, with dramatic curtains and a thick foliage canopy dotted with lamps. The evening saw stunning performances by the couple and their loved ones, and the venue looked resplendent as it was drenched in magical purple and blue lights.
Haldi
The lively function of Haldi saw refreshing décor in hues of white and lemon yellow. The atmosphere was relaxed with lounge furniture set up, while flowers and props added a quirky youthful touch to the day. The bride and groom looked radiant in matching hues of orange, as their loved ones smeared them with turmeric paste amidst a whole lot of fun and laughter.
Wedding
A delicate color palette of white and peach set a tranquil ambience for the auspicious nuptials. The dainty mandap was decked with beautiful flowers and foliage, while a gorgeous crystal chandelier hung above the altar. Custom designed flower baskets filled with adorable flower bunches, and petal cones for the guests added a lovely touch to the ceremony. A beautiful piece of heirloom jewellery gifted to the bride by her grandmother added a special touch to the bride’s ensemble.
Advice for couples
Aarushi shares, “The only tip I would share is to plan your wedding well, but don’t obsess over tiny details. Things never go exactly the way you have planned, and if we get caught up stressing over little details, we miss the beauty of the most special celebration of our lives.”
