Aastha and Raghav, Mahabalipuram
Simple but grand: A celebration that left guests wondering who the royals were!
When Aastha was planning her wedding with fiancé Raghav, she relayed one wish to the planning team, WeddingSutra Favorite – 3x Events “I wanted a simple wedding. And, even though the wedding was grand, it had the simplest details that made me so happy! Because the little things matter.”

Wedding Planning
Speaking about the execution by 3x Events, Aastha says, “We loved every concept. The people who attended the functions were mesmerized by the haldi and pheres! The sangeet looked like a filmy set. I think the most creative insight was the event names—they used our initials in all of them!”

Wedding Functions
Welcome Lunch
The welcome lunch at the venue in Mahabalipuram, saw Kathakali Dancers at the entrance ushering the guests into the celebrations. They also had help from the family’s pet, who made sure that everyone felt welcome. A traditional Tamilian lunch served on leaves and a balloon shooting counter, made sure everyone was geared up for the celebrations ahead!

Haldi
Titled “RaAs Gulabi”, the Haldi started with a ‘Radha Krishna’ dance that had the guests enthralled. Sticking to the theme, everyone dressed in hues of yellow. A live portrait artist got the couple’s goody vibe down on canvas!

Sangeet
The sangeet was a ‘RagAa of Love’, a glam beachside function. The celebrations started after a small ceremony, with the bride and groom setting the stage on fire. They looked like they were having the time of their life. Soon, family and friends also joined in on the fun!
The bride loved the sword cake cutting during the sangeet, and the fans that made their hair fly, making them feel like “they were in a movie”.

Wedding
The pheras, says Aastha, was completely fantastic, especially the bubbles and beach setup. “I didn’t hear the end of it, because people enjoyed it so much and it took them back to their childhood. The morning pheras with the color pataka looked absolutely gorgeous with the sunrise.”
She adds that the Kalyanam party entry “was so cool”. “The rickshaw was unthought of. I was sooo surprised.”
“The best compliment we’ve heard from everybody was that we looked like a king and queen! All the entries made us look so Royal! Someone asked if they were unaware about Raghav’s dynasty!”
