Adisha and Samyak, Hotel Fairmont Jaipur
An enchanting amalgam of music, color and cheer, this spirited Jaipur wedding was bride Adisha’s very own version of a romantic Bollywood flick.
What started out with a usual arranged-marriage meeting culminated with a dream celebration for Adisha and Samyak’s. Skillfully executed by WeddingSutra Favorite – Fiestro Events, this multi-faceted wedding was filled with music, dance and vibrant colors. The memoties were captured in beautiful photographs by another WeddingSutra Favorite – Infinite Memories. Read on to know more about how the festivities unfolded.
How They Met
Adisha and Samyak first met in what she calls a ‘Bollywood-style arranged marriage setup’ organized by their families. It was not love at first sight at all for the couple. Nevertheless, they both decided to give it another shot and met for the second time, during which sparks flew. This lead them to spend over five hours chatting on the phone. After a long period of back and forth, love was finally apparent when Samyak made Adisha cancel her flight back home to address their chemistry! Things progressed fast, with the couple getting engaged within two days. And the rest is history.
Wedding Planning
Adisha had been planning her wedding all her life! If she had to describe her dream wedding in a word, it was ‘grand’. Adisha says, “As soon as I was engaged, I started scanning Pinterest. I explained every detail of what I wanted to the planner. I knew exactly what to wear keeping sync with the themes I wanted.”
Fiestro Events proficiently aided the couple in their planning process. Each ceremony had a carefully chosen theme that was executed keeping the likes and dislikes of the families in mind. Every element was designed with minute specifications, from the glass signage at the reception to the hampers and welcome notes in the rooms. Adisha’s proudest decision during the wedding planning phase was zeroing in on Infinite Memories to do the wedding photography. Having made her and Samyak feel very comfortable throughout the wedding, Adisha says that Infinite Memories covered her wedding exactly the way she wanted.
Pre-Wedding Celebrations
Wedding Functions
Mehendi
Adisha’s mehendi ceremony was a vibrant event. Family and guests stuck to a green and maroon dress code, inspired by the colors of henna before and after application. Adisha looked dreamy in a beautiful green outfit by Tailortastic. The decor was bright, dominated by yellows, with a traditional marigold garland backdrop.
Antakshari
An ice-breaking event for both the families to get to know each other, the Antakshari Night was a huge hit. The evening was filled with enthusiastic bonding between the bride and groom’s relatives as guests let their guard down while competing with light-hearted rivalry. The decor consisted of bright pink hues and the couple too wore chic outfits in shades of pink.
Mayra
A conventional Rajasthani ritual, Adisha and Samyak’s mayra was a traditional gathering reflecting their rich cultural heritage. While the bride’s side was dressed in dazzling Rajputana ensembles, the groom’s family chose to wear elaborate Rajasthani outfits. The function saw both families twirling to traditional Rajasthani music. Adisha looked ravishing in a hot-pink Rajputana lehenga embellished with Gota work and a leheriya odhna by Tailortastic. Her choker was paired with a matching maang tika and earrings. Samyak dazzled in a kurta that was matched to his bride’s outfit. An elegant brown jacket by Manyavar completed his look.
Sangeet
The theme for the night was ‘Fairytales’ and Fiestro Events’ majestic decor transformed the venue into a royal castle with decorative lights, drapes and foliage. The couple looked as if they were straight out of a fairytale in their regal outfits. While Adisha’s wore a glittering silver gown by Onaya, Samyak looked dapper in a navy-blue sherwani by Gagan Chandhok.
What stole the show was Samyak’s surprise performance for his bride. Adisha says, “Samyak surprised me on our sangeet with a performance. He danced to Shah Rukh Khan’s songs even though he dislikes the actor and HATES dancing!”
Haldi
This ceremony had a floral theme, with flowers, frames and flowy drapes in shades of orange, pink and yellow. The guests all dressed in vivid floral attires. Adisha rocked a gorgeous yellow and green floral saree by Tailortastic, complete with vibrant floral jewelry. Samyak wore a green kurta and jacket. Adisha’s bridesmaids wore identical light-green sarees, designed by Adisha herself and gifted to them in hampers that she personally curated. The bride was the star of the ceremony with her segway entry and a 20-minute musical performance that she dedicated to each member of the family.
Wedding
The wedding ceremony was a sight to behold; the venue decked out in pastel hues. The mandap for the varmala (garland ceremony) was decorated with pretty flowers and chandeliers. In a striking twist, the bride entered with a baraat as well, sitting in the sidecar of a scooter, her parents dancing to the beats of the Nashik dhol. The couple had ‘musical pheras’ that were organized by Fiestro Events, so all guests had a turn to sit up close and watch them get married. Adisha’s bridal ensemble by Shingaar was pristine white with hints of gold and blue in her lehenga embellishments. Samyak wore a white sherwani by Gagan Chandhok with a safa and waist-band in pastel pink, which matched the color of Adisha’s veil.
