Adithya Jagdish and Deepika Rajaram, Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, Goa
Borrowing elements from the couple’s love story and weaving it seamlessly into the design story, this wedding set the bar high with its personalised details.
Adithya and Deepika’s wedding took cues from their journey of love, be it their love for trekking or their memorable trip to Turkey. This highly personalised celebration was designed by WeddingSutra Favorite – Castle Rock Events who with their keen eye for detail orchestrated a series of memorable festivities.
Wedding Planning
Pooja Ghotage Sitani from Castle Rock Events shares, “The couple had a clear vision as they sought to infuse their wedding with personal significance. They wanted the decor to exude their personalities; simple, meaningful and personal. The early morning wedding was a challenge as we had to have the floral decor done at night which is not the best time for us to gauge exactly how the decor has turned out. However, teams worked through the night to ensure a beautiful setup was in place for the couple on the morning of the wedding.”
Impressed by the team’s proactive approach, bride Deepika shares, “It was a great experience working with Castle Rock Events. We truly felt like we were understood and our vibes were taken into consideration. The detailing they showcased was phenomenal!”
Wedding Functions
Welcome Dinner
As ardent admirers of trekking and camping, the planners and designers ensured the welcome dinner featured elements from the same in the decor. Pooja Ghotage Sitani shares, “ The welcome dinner featured subtle and meaningful camping details through oil lanterns, miniature mountain peaks, lampstands made of twigs and rustic decor to bring out the adventure trails. We called this evening ‘Woodland’, complete with wooden tables, bohemian linen and cane furniture to create a warm evening. The couple’s love for hiking was evident from the Welcome signage, designed to look like mountain peaks with a warm glow to resemble bonfires and camping lights. Glowing lanterns with candles nestling in the wooden holders added a touch of warmth and romance to the scene. Twinkling bulb strings mimicked the stars that illuminate the night sky over the couple’s favourite trekking destination.”
Mehndi
Inspired by the couple’s trip to Cappadocia, the mehndi was designed with a quirky backdrop, fun seatings, colourful floral setups and adorable details, like, rainbows and hot air balloons. It set a playful mood for the event where everyone had a fun time grooving and making memories. A heart-shaped backdrop with wool-wrapped bottles made the moments picture-perfect while a photobooth kept everyone engaged.
Wedding
The decor followed a ‘Kalyanam’ theme with aesthetics that can be commonly found in southern India. Hosted in the morning, the decor featured wooden pillars, kolam prints, banana plants and vintage jewellery boxes. Pops of red and orange were added through florals to an otherwise serene colour palette of white and green. Inspired by a temple the mandap looked exquisite against the banyan tree. The floor of the mandap featured kolam details and was adorned by traditional blooms.
