Aishwarya and Ruchir, Rajasthan

Aishwarya Gupta, daughter of Priti Rathi Gupta MD, Anand Rathi Group and Co-Producer of the Bollywood film Karwaan and grand daughter of Anand Rathi, the founder of Anand Rathi Financial Services Limited, wed Ruchir Dalmia, a Senior Blockchain Consultant at Deloitte, in a memorable three-day wedding celebration that was orchestrated seamlessly by WeddingSutra Favorite – Perfexion Events. WeddingSutra Favorite – Reels and Frames captured each emotion and all the action of the lavish nuptials perfectly.

Wedding Venues
Reveling in the cultural heritage of Rajasthan, each venue of this duo’s nuptials had a story of its own with its historic heritage serving as a magnificent backdrop. For the welcome lunch, the duo chose the stunning Suryagarh Jaisalmer, and for the sundowner dinner, they moved closer to nature on The Dunes of the Thar Desert. On day two, the Jaisalmer Marriott Resort and Spa was chosen for the mehndi for its sprawling grounds and contemporary amenities, while the sangeet that was held the following evening was hosted at the Lake Garden in Suryagarh. To give the guests a relaxing break, the duo decided to execute a ‘wildlife inspired’ brunch at The Sunset Patio, Suryagarh, which was followed by the wedding ceremony at the same venue.

Wedding Planning
With Perfexion Events at the helm, the couple’s wedding was in able hands as each function unfolded exactly the way they had envisioned it. Ashish Bohra, Director at Perfexion Events shares his experience, “Planning and executing a wedding of this magnitude and detail was a challenging task for us but that’s what also made it unique. Each event was one of kind as it depicted the cities of Rajasthan and over the course of seven months, we almost became like family with the Guptas who looked minutely into every detail. Also, we were constantly on our toes as we were working with successful professionals of the Anand Rathi Group. Overall, it was an extremely rewarding and enlightening experience as everyone put in their best efforts even in the freezing weather of Jaisalmer. ”

On the photography front, the duo chose Reels and Frames who came up with remarkable shots that fused drama and intimacy in equal measure.

Adding to the team were decorators Seven Steps Weddings who used their creative insights to deliver standout results. Entertainers like the Nizami Bandhu, Swaraag, Mame Khan and Bryden-Parth enthralled everyone with their lively tunes.

Weddings Functions

Welcome Lunch
Giving the guests a warm welcome to the land filled with stunning palaces, a welcome lunch was organized where the guests could mingle freely with each other. Team Perfexion Events shares, “In our homage to the state of Rajasthan, the welcome lunch was conceptualized around Jodhpur, the ‘Blue City,’ and the flowers used to adorn the venue were also local and can quite commonly be seen trailing from the balconies and gardens at homes there.” With ample comfortable seating options and traditional blue pottery peppered around the venue, the lunch was filled with bright colors that perked up the travel-worn guests.

Sundowner
The following evening, everyone geared up for the sundowner which was held on the dunes of the Thar Desert. Famed for its rugged beauty and blistering cold, all the guests were requested to wear warm clothes and flat shoes that would help them walk on the sand. With the dark night sky as the canopy, this event shone brightly on the otherwise dark dunes. The planning team shares, “For this evening, the decor focussed on pristine white surfaces that reflected the light. Intricate patterns and mesmerizing light acts were the final flourishes that completed the experience for the guests.” To give the entertaining evening a memorable end, each guest released red lanterns into the air which made a striking contrast against the dark, starry sky. Dressed in a contemporary white and gold lehenga, Aishwarya danced to her heart’s content with Ruchir, who donned a grey kurta and a printed shawl for the occasion.

Haldi
A close-knit and playful function, the haldi stayed true to tradition with its yellow and orange floral decor. However, the highlight of the occasion was the couple’s stunning entrance where they were flanked by Vrindavan dancers decorated with peacock feathers. As they stood against the backdrop of artfully arranged peacock feathers, Aishwarya and Ruchir were all smiles. Dressed in a yellow lehenga, the bride enjoyed a shower of marigold petals and was gleefully smeared with turmeric paste by Ruchir who wore a printed floral kurta.

Mehndi
When it came to the mehndi, the team pulled all stops to give this happy couple a colorful event that reflected their youthful exuberance. Team Perfexion Events shares, “Taking inspiration from the annual Pushkar Mela, we executed a vibrant, multi-colored mehndi ceremony which featured many quirky elements.” With Mame Khan performing his soulful tunes, the mood was set for a laid back affair filled with dances, friendly banter and sumptuous treats. Dressed in a lime green mirror work lehenga, Aishwarya glowed as she got henna patterns applied on her hands. Ruchir, however, chose to contrast her in a bright red bandhgala and printed kurta.

Sangeet
Taking a cue from Rajasthan’s world-renowned complex mirror work mosaic art named ‘Thikri’, the sangeet followed a ‘Udaipur Sheesh Mahal’ theme. With a colossal stage that had a thikri inspired silver and white backdrop, the sangeet had everyone dancing to the beats of the dhol and their favorite Bollywood tracks. Looking dapper in his baby blue embroidered bandhgala, Ruchir made the most of his time on stage by showing off his best moves. Aishwarya, on the other hand, chose a white and silver lehenga which she paired with a girly braided half-up hairdo.

Brunch
To make sure everyone received the full ‘Rajasthani experience’, a pre-wedding brunch was organized following a ‘Ranthambore’ theme. Explaining the decor in detail, team Perfexion Events shares, “The whole idea was to give everyone the camp-style communal dining experience with a touch of luxury. Leather and plaid textures inspired by the forest lodges dotted the venue along with wooden elements that symbolised a camp.”

Wedding
Following tradition, the couple decided to have a conventional wedding with a royal touch. Replete with delicate blooms and lush foliage, the decor also featured a beautiful mix of pink and lilac hues that accentuated the venue’s earthy beauty. Dressed in a dusty rose lehenga, Aishwarya channeled her inner princess as she walked down a petal-strewn aisle towards Ruchir who wore a gold and off-white sherwani. Expressing her happiness over the breathtaking portraits captured by Reels and Frames, Aishwarya shares, “ I was utterly speechless and pleasantly surprised when I saw my bridal portraits. They captured each raw emotion and made me look stunning in every picture.”

Reception
Candles and diyas bathed the reception venue in a soft glow. The late evening event was held under the stars where Bangalore-based Bryden-Parth entertained the gathering with their tracks. Aishwarya and Ruchir made an unforgettable entry to the event and were welcomed by cold pyros and dazzling fireworks.
