A close-knit wedding that paved the way for many fun moments, Akanksha Sethi and Shiladitya Nath’s union expressed the couple’s exuberant personas. Photographing the couple as they partied, loved and made promises of a lifetime was WeddingSutra Favorite – The Wedding Diaries.
Wedding Planning
Ensuring that every moment of the nuptials was captured in stunning frames was The Wedding Diaries. Impressed by the photography team’s skill and proactive approach, the couple shares, “We met the team only once to discuss our expectations and from thereon handed the reins over to them. It was an intimate beachside wedding but the photographers made everything look incredibly grand as they documented every detail! For the engagement, we were keen on more modern shots and they did a fantastic job with a bokeh background. On the other hand, the haldi and wedding ceremony were captured through a multitude of candid shots. They also gave us some fantastic cinematic reels to share online!”
Wedding Functions
Engagement and Mehndi
Akanksha shares, “For the engagement, we went for a boho theme with glittery elements. Fairy lights pampas grass along with teepee tents for the mehndi booths. Once the sparklers were lit, we had a cake-cutting ceremony onstage. The kids, especially, had a gala time indulging in candy floss and ice golas.”
Haldi and Chooda
The bride shares, “This event aimed to create a mini Punjab. We used Punjabi ‘pakhi’ fans, installed a coconut water cart, hired dholwalas to play lively beats while the guests lounged on Punjabi ‘manji’ beds.”
Wedding
Akanksha shares, “Since I planned the wedding all by myself, I wanted everything to be just as envisioned. The color palette was white and gold. Golden balloons were generously used for the varmala ceremony. Gold chivari chairs, an old vintage car for the baraat, saunf cones for the guest welcome and scarves for the men instead of the usual pagdi were all a part of the celebration. And an open bar for all the functions making it super fun and more like a celebration than a typical wedding. 500 kaleerein were sourced directly from Chandni Chowk, Delhi to be included in the decor.”
Advice For Couples
The couple shares, “Do not take everything too seriously on those days and try to live in the moment. One location and one place for both families helped us stay connected to each other and have better celebrations. An introduction party is the best idea to get everybody comfortable. Keep it small and intimate.”
