Ananya and Tushar, Hyatt Regency Dehradun Resort and Spa, Mussoorie
From a sun-kissed haldi, a traditional phera ceremony, to a stunning Bollywood-inspired sangeet - this wedding had it all!
Ananya and Tushar’s wedding unfolded as a thoughtfully planned destination celebration marked by emotion, family warmth, and seamless coordination. Planned by WeddingSutra Favourites – K Events, the multi-day affair, hosted at the scenic Hyatt Regency Dehradun Resort and Spa, brought together traditional ceremonies, vibrant celebrations, and soulful evenings.
How They Met
“We met through a very arranged setup, but we fell in love surprisingly quickly,” shares Ananya. What she assumed would be a slow and deliberate process felt instinctive from the very beginning. From their first meeting, the comfort was immediate. “I had never felt more ‘me’ with anyone before,” she says, recalling how easily they were able to be their truest selves with each other. One meeting led to another, and clarity soon followed. “It was one of those ‘when you know, you know’ moments,” she adds.
The Proposal
While the wedding itself was already decided, Ananya admits she had playfully hinted at a small surprise. What followed was entirely unexpected. Under the pretext of attending a family gathering in Gurgaon, Tushar planned a stop at their new home to check on the updates.
When he suggested heading up to the terrace, Ananya noticed him fumbling with his phone, trying to play music. “The moment we stepped onto the terrace, I froze,” she recalls. The set up was a full Marry Me proposal with lights, champagne, and a photographer. “It was magical, unexpected, and so deeply special.”
Wedding Planning
The morning of the wedding began with rain, an anxious start for what was planned as a sundowner ceremony. “I completely panicked. I cried, prayed, and kept telling myself that God would help make it happen,” Ananya shares. Although the weather had been pleasant overall, the main garden venue was at risk. As the day unfolded, the rain stopped, and the celebrations proceeded as planned. “It truly felt like God’s blessings were pouring over us,” she says.
Working with K Events played a significant role in ensuring everything ran smoothly. “The team was exceptionally helpful and was there for us every step of the way,” Ananya notes, adding that they brought their dream wedding together beautifully.
For a destination wedding, logistics for guests were especially important. Despite many guests arriving during the haldi ceremony, the check-in process remained seamless. Rooms were ready on time, with no delays or confusion. “For all three days, I didn’t have to stress about a single thing,” she says. “Everything was handled flawlessly.”
Wedding Functions
Bhaat & Welcome
The Bhaat ceremonies were hosted at a contemporary rooftop bar. The setting offered a modern environment for the traditional rituals. Later that evening, guests were welcomed with a celebratory gathering, which also included a surprise birthday celebration for Ananya’s brother.
Haldi
On the morning of 14th February, the haldi ceremony was hosted alongside a grand welcome for guests arriving that day. The décor featured shades of yellow, green, and orange, with a Tree of Life backdrop anchoring the setup. As Ananya and Tushar made their entry to the beats of the dhol, family and friends surprised them with dance performances. Covered in haldi and beer, the celebration unfolded with laughter, joy, and affection.
Sangeet
The sangeet was one of the most anticipated events for Ananya. “Since childhood, I had dreamt of an unforgettable sangeet filled with OG Bollywood hits,” she shares, including favourites like Chunnari Chunnari and Bijoora Bijoora. The décor was modern, inspired by a starry night, setting the mood for an evening of high-energy performances. A special family performance was dedicated to the couple, followed by a solo dance by Tushar. “After that, we danced the night away without a care in the world,” she says.
Engagement
The engagement was hosted in Delhi and unfolded as a Sufi-inspired evening, influenced by Khusro, followed by an after-party featuring the singing sensation Sukhbir. The overall vibe was modern and elegant, balancing subtlety with sophistication.
Wedding
The wedding day began with Ananya’s Gaur Puja (a pooja dedicated to Goddess Gauri), an emotional moment for her. At the same time, Tushar’s baraat took place, filled with music, energy, and celebration. As Ananya got ready in her wedding attire, emotions took over. “Walking toward the love of my life, hand in hand with my mother, father, and brother, I felt surrounded by pure love,” she shares. The ceremony concluded with blessings from family and friends, followed by a Sufi performance which brought the celebrations to a soulful close.

Advice for couples
“Share the panics, talk about everything, and always have each other’s back,” Ananya advises.
She also reflects on letting go of perfection. “Sometimes the décor may not be exactly how you imagined, but that shouldn’t take away from the most special day of your life,” she says. Choosing to stay present allowed Ananya and Tushar to enjoy candid moments, focus less on posed photographs, and truly live each day. “Trust the process,” she concludes. “In the end, everything falls into place.”
