Angira and Sulabh, Radisson Blu Udaipur Palace Resort and Spa, Rajasthan
From puppet shows to ethnic decor, Angira and Sulabh treated their guests to the traditional vibe of regal Rajasthan at their Udaipur wedding.
Angira and Sulabh met each other at a music festival, hit it off and their relationship developed a special rhythm over time. Their wedding in Udaipur was, naturally, filled with music, dance and magical moments that were captured by WeddingSutra Favorite – Happyframes. Bride Angira shares some highlights of the two-day wedding here.
How We Met
“Sulabh and I met through common friends at a music festival in Goa seven years ago. We hit it off instantly! While he is originally from New Delhi, he has studied in Mumbai. I have lived and worked in Mumbai all my life. We have beautiful memories in both the cities that have shaped our relationship.”
Wedding Venue
“We got married at the Radisson Blu Udaipur Palace Resort and Spa in Rajasthan. This property is very pleasing aesthetically and their food and hospitality are also unmatched.”
Wedding Planning
“Happyframes were our wedding photographers, and we honestly couldn’t have found a better team. They were so easy to work with and became like our friends. They adhered to the themes, really understood our style and captured our moments accordingly. They even helped run errands when needed even though that wasn’t exactly their role! Happyframes are going to be our family photographers for life!”
Wedding Functions
Mehndi
“The theme for this function was floral prints along with pastel shades, and the decor was very quirky and colorful. Bright tassels and orange marigold blooms were a part of the setup and went well with the sundowner party.”
Cocktail Party
“The celebrations continued with a Western-themed cocktail party where the dress code was tuxedos for men and gowns for women. We let the decor be very simple yet elegant, and lots of yellow bulbs were used to decorate the spaces. The night also saw a ring ceremony and few dance performances by our family and friends which left everyone enthralled.”
Haldi
“For the haldi, we stuck to a yellow, gold and white color scheme and the function was hosted on the rooftop against the breathtaking views of the Fateh Sagar Lake. We wanted this event to have a very ethnic appeal, so we even invited folk dancers and organized a puppet show for our guests.”
Wedding
“The wedding had a very traditional flavor to it, and even the colors that were used as part of the setup were quintessentially Indian. Red and golden hues had the venue looking fit for a royal wedding, and I felt nothing less than a queen in a red Sabyasachi lehenga. This ceremony was such an emotional one for us and our wedding day was one of the happiest days of my life!”
Advice for Couples
“It’s natural to get jittery and anxious while planning the wedding. Just make sure that you begin the preparations well in advance, book your vendors on time, maintain a record of everything and don’t forget to have fun along the way.!”
