Anushka Gupte and Rex Periera, ITC Maratha, Mumbai
Adorned with white and red hues that were accentuated by a dash of vintage gold, this couple’s wedding mandap was a visual treat!
After three years of dating and eight wedding proposals, Anushka Gupte and Rex Periera unfolded a new chapter in their lives with celebrations that celebrated both their cultures. WeddingSutra – KnotsbyAMP used their skills behind the lens to capture the spirit of their union.
How They Met
Anushka shares, “We met at a time when neither of us was seeking love or a relationship. At a friend’s party, where everyone else was caught up and we were the only two introverts who were awkward, shy and sober, and somehow found our way to each other. It was an unexpected connection, and though we are incredibly different in many ways, there was an instant and inexplicable bond between us. From the very first day we met, 3 years ago, we’ve never gone a day without talking. We just knew—we were each other’s person. We’ve weathered everything together, always certain that no matter what life throws at us, we would never give up on each other.”

The Proposal
When it came to popping the question, Rex decided to pull out all the stops and proposed to Anushka in eight different ways! Anushka recollects, “He planned 7 different proposals, symbolising the seven pheras we take during a Hindu marriage, each one symbolizing a sacred vow. All the proposals were so thoughtfully personalized, and with every one, he gave me a gift that was meaningful to the promise he was making. From asking me to be his partner in promises, to being his travel buddy for life, and even his companion in rescuing animals—a cause we both deeply care about—each proposal was a beautiful reflection of the life we had already built together. And when he finally popped the ‘big question’, it felt like a culmination of everything we shared.
Seven proposals might sound like a lot, but Rex wasn’t done yet! He proposed to me for the 8th time in Lake Como, Italy, where he had also planned a stunning engagement shoot to fulfill my grand dreams. Each moment, each gesture, was a reminder of how deeply he loves me and how much he’s committed to building a beautiful future together.”

Wedding Planning
The couple shares, “We’re so glad we chose KnotsByAMP! Shooting with them was a lot of fun—they felt like friends and made the entire process easy and memorable. Their warmth and professionalism truly added to the experience.” Anushka then goes on to give us an overview of their wedding, “Our wedding had a beautiful mix of styles: a serene Italian garden decor for the low-key Haldi, a lively Bollywood Sangeet with pastel florals, a royal Hindu wedding with traditional heritage red decor, and a chic white wedding with minimal florals and greenery for a vintage feel. Each function was unique and unforgettable.”
Wedding Functions
Sangeet
With the decked up with LED candles, lush floral arrangements and a chandelier, the sangeet promised to be a night of energetic performances and fun moments. As everyone put their best foot forward, the couple cheered their loved ones on and later, even took to the stage themselves.
Hindu Wedding
Going for a classic color palette of red and white, the Hindu wedding exuded regal vibes. The wedding mandap was adorned with suspended garlands of mogras and roses while brass vases added a dash of glamour. The ivory backdrop ensured that the bride stood out in every picture with her raspberry red lehenga.

White Wedding
Keeping it minimal, the white wedding took place in the church. The bride, in her full-sleeved lace wedding gown with a long veil, looked stunning, and the groom looked dapper in a grey suit. Later, the couple hosted a glam reception where they raised a toast and performed a graceful ‘first dance’ as life partners.

Advice For Couples
The couple shares, “Hire vendors you trust and have multiple meetings to ensure they understand your exact vision. Make sure they’ve done similar work before, but don’t stress over the small details. Enjoy the process with each other—it goes by fast, and you’ll truly miss it once it’s over.”
