This couple’s lakeside wedding mandap stood out with its ivory hues interspersed with pops of pink.
Simple and vibrant, Anushree and Rohit’s Udaipur-based wedding flaunted different themes that exuded desi charm. Planning their wedding and staying true to the couple’s vision was WeddingSutra Favorite – The Serendipity Co.
Wedding Planning
Rhea Dewan from The Serendipity Co. shares, “The bride’s late father’s favorite bloom was rajnigandha and the bride wanted to honor him by incorporating it into the wedding. Additionally, the couple was keen on ensuring that each event looked different from the other. We also had quick turnaround times as we converted the mehndi venue into the sundowner sangeet venue within a few hours!”
Wedding Functions
Grooms Haldi
Inspired by hues of turmeric the groom’s haldi was themed ‘Quintessentially Yellow’. It was a playful event where the groom and his besties had a gala time slathering each other with a turmeric mixture. Baskets of marigold petals and a brass urli were also some of the elements used in the decor.
Bride’s Mehendi
The sunlit mehndi event themed as ‘Pastel Paradise’ featured a backdrop with jharokas painted in various pastel hues. A floral printed sofa kept the bride comfy as she got henna patterned on her palms. Colourful rugs, earthen pots with blooms and a breezy canopy added to the pastel wonderland.
Sangeet Sundowner
The ‘Sufi Hues and Blues’ themed sangeet witnessed the glamour and soulful tunes under the starlit sky. Canopies of white had drapes with breezy blue fabrics that swayed at the slightest of winds. Additionally, wide divans with richly woven blue bolsters added to the Sufi spirit of the event. Brass lamps lit up the way for the guests between the seating tents.
Wedding
The wedding stayed true to the classics with the theme ‘Gul’. Using an abundance of white, pink and brass tones, the union was an elegant one. Rajnigandha blooms, a favorite of the bride’s late father, were used generously around the wedding mandap and the guest chairs. Overlooking the lake, the wedding mandap also sported suspended brass bells which chimed every time a breeze blew by.
Reception
After the serene morning wedding, the couple celebrated the beginning of a new chapter in their lives with a glitzy sangeet. Themed ‘Starry Romance’ the event was filled with chrome elements along with silver, red and black hues. Chandeliers cast a golden glow over the guests as they dined and the centrepiece of each table comprised of scarlet roses and baby’s breath blooms.
