Apoorva Joshi and Yatharth Seth, Taj Aravali Resort & Spa, Udaipur
Striking a balance between desi vibrance and new-age elements, this couple’s destination wedding in Udaipur was regal and exuberant.
Sweden-based Apoorva Joshi and Yatharth Seth’s destination wedding was an intimate one that spanned two plush venues. Filled with spontaneous, playful moments as well as emotional ones, this wedding was photographed by WeddingSutra Favorite – Camera Crew.
How They Met
Yatharth shares, “We went to IIT Delhi together and gradually became close friends. I was the first one to take initiative and ask Apoorva out and she didn’t reciprocate right away but we continued to be friends and kept growing closer. To my surprise, she came around after nearly a year and told me that she was interested as well!”
The Proposal
Yatharth shares, “We had already talked about getting married and the timeline around it, and that was my biggest challenge while planning the proposal. I decided to plan an elaborate proposal – that way she didn’t even see it coming! I told her the night before to pack her bags as I had a surprise trip planned for her. The itinerary of the trip was a secret and she played along.
We travelled to the North of Sweden and drove a couple of hours to reach a town called Jokkmokk in the Arctic Circle. She loves dogs and I first took her to a husky kennel to hang out with some dogs and start the trip on an exciting note. The kennel was closed for the day but I explained the situation to the owner and requested him to make an exception, thankfully he agreed. After that, I arranged for a cosy dinner on a frozen river with some fire by our side. I popped the question right after dinner. Since there were only the two of us for miles, I had carried my tripod to capture the moment.”
Wedding Planning
Apoorva shares, “We wanted an intimate wedding and that is why we went with a 120 people guest list and 2-day setup. And because of this setup, I feel everyone was quite heavily involved.”
When it came to choosing the photography team for their wedding, the couple was thorough with their research. Yatharth shares, “It was one of the most important aspects for us and we researched dozens of studios and spent time analyzing their work. We went for Camera Crew because we felt that their work was quite impressive. They also stood out to us as they had a good balance of beautiful traditional wedding shots and some innovative and contemporary pictures in their roster. We absolutely loved their work! Working with them was incredibly easy and the entire team is quite friendly to interact with. They were proactive and heard out every one of our inputs.”
Weddings Functions
Sangeet
Apoorva recollects, “The Sangeet function had a great vibe at the majestic Durbar Hall. Many guests who had not planned any performance started requesting stage time for impromptu performances and by the end, all the sofas were empty as pretty much everyone was on the dance floor!”
Sagan
Sunkissed and simple, this event had the couple enjoying cheerful moments under the open sky as they revelled in their love. Before the rituals, the duo also took time out to capture some amazing couple portraits.
Haldi
Yatharth shares, “The dancing mania continued the next morning as well. In an unplanned intervention, dhols were called up before the function and all our relatives were dancing to the dhols at the luxurious poolside of the venue. After all the guests were done applying haldi to me, my brother tore my haldi kurta and my friends played holi with me with the haldi. In the end, we all jumped into the pool and then climbed out to dance to the beats of the dhol again!”
Wedding
Apoorva shares, “We changed the venue for our wedding and decided to go a bit closer to the mountains with Taj Aravali Resort & Spa, Udaipur. We started the wedding ceremony before midnight when all the guests were present. Thankfully, for us, the wedding day wasn’t stressful at all. We had so much fun and were energetic from start to finish!”
Advice for Couples
The couple shares, “Be cautious and do not splurge excessively. And, most importantly, don’t give in to the chaos. Enjoy every moment of the celebrations.”
