How They Met
Introduced by Deepanshu’s dad, Astha and Deepanshu’s trans-continental love flourished virtually for a year before they got the chance to meet in person. Astha shares, “Although we couldn’t meet sooner due to Covid restrictions, it actually gave us the opportunity to really get to know one another at a deeper level through our conversations.”
Wedding Planning
She continues, “While organizing our wedding amidst the pandemic, there was a constant upheaval of conditions which made it challenging when it came to planning the time and location logistics for our friends and family. Eventually, we finalized the wedding date once the flight bans were lifted, and then we had just about two months to plan everything, and we were successful thanks to our family and wonderful team of vendors”.
Hosting their festivities at the beautiful Rajhans Hotel in Surajkund, the couple chose Glamsham Events to plan their wedding. Every second of their special moments were captured by the team of AbhiSakshi Photography. Reminiscing about their experience, they share, “Our experience with AbhiSakshi cannot be summed up in just one line. We believe in the little things that can remind one of the fun times we had during the wedding 20 years down the line, and that was made possible only because of this wonderful duo who captured the same for us. They ensured that they got to capture every emotion and moment of love starting from the pre-wedding photoshoot to the functions and candid behind-the-scenes shenanigans. We would highly recommend them to anyone getting married.”
Mehndi
The wedding festivities kicked off with a vibrant Mehndi. Elements such as Punjabi khaats(cots), flower-laden rickshaws, signboards and more, imbued the occasion with lively rustic flavors, complete with colorful backdrops of wheels, hanging tassels and flowers. The occasion was a close-knit affair with the couple’s friends and family, as the bride got her arms and feet covered in intricate mehndi patterns.
Engagement
The Engagement and Sagan ceremony was an elegant starlit soiree. The evening radiated a romantic charm set in black and gold and was decked up with tons of flowers, fairy lights, lounge lights, neon elements and more. The couple exchanged rings amongst great cheer under a canopy of lush greens dotted with chandeliers. A classy formal dinner, music and dance had everyone enjoying to their hearts’ content.
Haldi
“For Pahadis, the Haldi is considered to be one of the most auspicious of all wedding traditions, so my ceremony included many customary elements like dhol, damau, bagpipers, the local delicacy of dal pakoda and many more. In keeping with their traditions, all the ladies on the bride’s side of the family teamed their yellow outfits along with Pahadi naths. Deepanshu’s Haldi on the other hand was a lot more relaxed and fun”. Hosted poolside, the all-yellow marigold decor saw a mix of traditional and modern elements for a unique ambience.
Wedding
Designed with dainty floral decor, the poolside Wedding was a sundowner ceremony followed by a reception dinner. Surrounded by digital rangoli, the mandap saw a canopy of green vines, flowers and lounge lights overhead as the couple took their pheras. Inspired by her favorite hue, the bride wore a stunning pink lehenga for the occasion which the groom complemented with a floral sherwani.
