Ayushi Patel, an architect by profession hailing from a renowned Mumbai-based business family, tied the knot with beau Mehul Rajdev in the city of lakes with a royal destination wedding. The 3-day multicultural affair was a blend of culture, traditions, and modern elegance, planned to perfection by WeddingSutra Favorite – Prasang Events. Watch it unfold below.
Wedding Planning
The bride, the bride’s father, and her sister were all hands-on with the planning process. Being an architect herself, the bride had a clear vision for the decor themes, aesthetics, and color palettes, and entrusted the team of Prasang Events to bring her ideas to life. The team shares, “The couple and their families wanted the wedding to be a reflection of their sophisticated taste, with decor that was in line with their personalities, and thoughtful personal touches. In essence, they envisioned a luxurious affair that was minimalistic yet elegant and gave their guests a unique and memorable experience. There were many last-minute demands and requirements by the client, each of which we fulfilled effectively and efficiently. Throughout the planning process, the client emphasized the importance of excellent communication and attention to detail. They appreciated the promptness of responses and clarity of thought we maintained throughout, while executing every detail with professionalism and creativity.”
Wedding Functions
Welcome Lunch
The trip started with a lovely welcome lunch for the guests to help them unwind after their travels and gear up for the celebrations.
Ganesh Pooja
To mark the commencement of the wedding rituals, a Ganesh Pooja was organized in keeping with the couple’s traditions, imagined with simple, yet stunning decor. Shifted indoors at the last minute due to the rains, the occasion saw serene moments of tradition as they took blessings from Lord Ganesha.
BBQ Night
For a fun, laidback soiree to officially kick off the festivities, the couple hosted a chic poolside BBQ Party. The evening was lit up with warm lights and elegant decor, and filled with cheerful faces as everyone mingled and got to know each other while enjoying delicious food and unplugged music by artist Saurabh Nimbkar.
Grah Shanti
Gran Shanti pooja was a vibrant, traditional affair in white, orange, yellow, and green hues. A flower rangoli welcomed the guests, while a passageway of yellow and orange floral arrangements with inverted hanging wicker baskets led to the function. The space was lit up abundantly with marigolds in creative arrangements, while patola drapes added another stunning traditional element to the decor. The symphony of shlokas and chants filled the air with a spiritual ambiance.
Haldi and Mehndi
With sunny skies and breezy weather, the Haldi and Mehndi soiree saw an upbeat afternoon of fun-filled festivities. Drapes in soft hues created a serene palette that was filled in with bohemian and tropical decor elements. Pampas grass, flowers, and greens added to the natural and organic feel of the occasion. Disintegrated image panels made for a unique and visually striking backdrop for the stage as friends and family spent the afternoon with music, dance, and non-stop enjoyment.
Sangeet
The Sangeet night was a glamorous occasion with a decor palette of glittery silver, golden, and black. The entrance was decked up with foliage, chandeliers, and Arabic lights for a mysterious enchanted forest feel that flowed onto the passage with silver walls and white floral arrangements. A fairy cloud canopy with fishnet and rice lights, disco balls, modish prints, and more, added to the magical aura of the occasion. After a dazzling entry amidst loud whistles and cheers, the couple had a gala time witnessing the performances put up by their friends and family, while the All India Permit Band had the guests grooving to their beats all evening. DJ Omen finally took over the night, keeping guests on their feet till morning.
Wedding
The groom entered in style in a vintage car along with all his baraat dancing on the beats of Dhol and DJ Van. As a thoughtful gesture, shawls were given to the guests to keep them warm during the Baraat welcome. The varmala stage exuded romance with delicate floral arrangements where the couple exchanged garlands amidst an explosion of joy and colors as rose petals showered down on them.
The wedding was a traditional affair with a modern touch. The venue was beautifully decorated in pink and white hues with chandeliers, with the natural beauty of the space perfectly complementing the mandap. A floral Ganesh idol served as the backdrop for the rituals. The family sat on either side of the mandap under a canopy of scalloped rajnigandha garlands. A specially designed book with wedding mantras was distributed among the guests during the ceremony to explain the importance and meaning of various rituals, while serene wedding chants by Mangal Pheras added to the sanctity of the occasion.
Reception
The Reception dinner was a grand affair with intricately curated elements. Upon entering, the guests were greeted by a mesmerizing LED light passage that added a chic, edgy touch, while the periphery walls were adorned with LED strips that added a sense of magic to the occasion. A cloud mesh ceiling with glistening crystal droplets and chandeliers created the illusion of a floating canopy overhead. As the evening progressed, the atmosphere became even more celebratory with the stunning champagne tower and heartfelt speeches by the couple and their close ones.
After Party
As the night progressed, the couple and their guests hit the dance floor and grooved to some foot-tapping music by DJ Omen who had everyone on their feet till the wee hours of the morning.
